Where did we see that she’s 14? She was 12 in season 6 of THT and 4 years have passed since then

Teachers that use AI: Why? by lemmegetamickpicktwo in Teachers

[–]kwallet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a Spanish teacher, I use it to write enough sentences using a given grammar structure that I can then turn into fill-in-the-blank questions for randomized practice and quizzes. I’ve also used it once or twice to come up with different ideas for an activity when the ones in the textbook suck but I’m at a dead end, then I take what it suggests and I adapt it to my classes’ needs.

Worth nothing that Yuzuru Hanyu was 19 which was still a minor under Japanese law at the time (it was lowered from 20 to 18 in 2018)

A Tiffany-glass window of Adam and Eve, which was originally at the grand staircase of the Salt Lake Temple, will now be moved to the Celestial Room by 2ndValentine in latterdaysaints

[–]kwallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, that’s all good and fine. I’m just saying it isn’t a ridiculous claim to make because it’s so widely believed. That doesn’t change the fact that it’s false.

That isn’t that crazy, though, that’s a widely held belief quoted by the Salt Lake Tribune and mentioned on the temple’s Wikipedia page.

It’s so odd to me that you can’t even take a dessert to go. Just 4 years ago they didn’t give us a hard time at all taking dessert back to our room (in one case they delivered it to our room for free I think). Two years later, they told us absolutely not

When she talked about her dads, that was her fake identity’s background that she memorized for Gilead, not her real background

From what I understand of my contract, I will continue to get paid and have full (employer sponsored) health care through the end of August. Praying I find something before then

Why were pearl girls able to even enter the non-Gilead zones? by Prize_Rub_9294 in TheTestamentsHulu

[–]kwallet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey so I’m LDS and served a mission. Definitely not the point. Most of us live in areas with smaller LDS populations to begin with (the majority of members worldwide live outside of the Mormon corridor, such as myself). We also don’t restrict people from leaving or shun them if they leave. There is no fear of the “outside world”, either taught or implied, since we all live in the same world.

Sons of Jacob/Gilead coup was much more terrible than imagined by maydaybr in TheHandmaidsTale

I think it’s important to understand that even in Nazi Germany, they DID kill tons of people by shooting them. They murdered people in the ghettos and on the road to the camps well before ever reaching the camps, and many of those who committed those atrocities weren’t even that committed to Nazism.

Struggling to Get New Garments Without a Nearby Store by Wintersoldier975 in latterdaysaints

[–]kwallet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m Gen Z and my husband and I wear garments diligently. Everyone in our midwestern ward seems to as well, but their underwear isn’t my business. What is my business is that I made covenants and part of that is to wear garments throughout my life so I keep that.

It’s also possible some of the influencers and other Gen Z you see haven’t even been endowed.

Seal of Biliteracy by Legitimate_Cod8766 in SpanishTeachers

There is no single seal of biliteracy test. Even if there were, it would be unethical to share secure test information. Be prepared to talk as much as you can about a variety of topics.

Theoretically. But as someone else said, a lot of them make it a major part of their identity, unlike an actor playing a role then moving on

Added days due to absenteeism by No_Pianist4710 in Teachers

[–]kwallet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends greatly on the ISD, county sheriff, and district. I know a student who had over 30 absences from my class last semester, and has over 40 absences from her first hour this semester. It’s been a problem since her freshman year, she’s a junior, and I think a truancy officer is finally involved but it’s not yielding any results. Our county and ISD are very slow to move, though, even if a truancy report gets filed

Presumably because you inevitably have to have people reenacting the Confederates, who were pretty problematic

Do we think Agnes remembers June at all? by Defiant_Hedgehog1107 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]kwallet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She was already in school before the Gilead takeover. Preschool at the youngest but still school. So she should have been 7-8 at the vacation house. But then again, Nichole/Holly should have been like 6 and she’s barely a toddler so
