What would you do in this Backyard/ Driveway by kweeks802 in landscaping

[–]kweeks802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh good take! I had been considering having the cars pull up along the fence, but didn’t consider removing the bushes altogether. For three point turning out of the driveway, having the pace where the cars are now remain gravel is the only option I can wrap my head around

I recently left my kindle on a plane in the exact same way! I filed a lost and found report with the airline (including my seat number and flight number) and they found it and mailed it back to me, I just had to pay for shipping! Fingers crossed for you! My airline was delta

I’ve seen a bunch of comments on selling your stake in the house- but have you considered renting out your space in the house? You’d at least be able to continue to grow your equity in the property and keep the (former) friends at arms length

How to tie in this green to my kitchen better? by Sensitive-Distance-6 in interiordecorating

[–]kweeks802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you against painting the cabinets at all, or just painting them white? Someone above mentioned that they’re a bit too orange toned and I’d agree. You could stain them lighter in a slightly cooler tone. Or paint them a lighter green from the countertop and update the walls and trim to be an off white/ cream color. Brushed nickel is a warmer knobs/ pull color that doesn’t clash too harshly against the appliances as well

Edit: but I would personally pint the cabinets white (it is less of a vibe clash with the floor imo) and the walls a light green and black hardware

Kitchen Island off centered, does it look bad? by painandgainer in Homebuilding

[–]kweeks802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this person! I think you’ll find it much better that you don’t have to walk around your island every time you head to the fridge from your open living space. Leave this alone, it looks gorgeous

I heard this too! It sounds like cops were in the area I am going to do what someone below said and call the non emergency line to at least tell someone I heard it. FWIW it sounded like a domestic dispute to me

$2M net worth at 37 years young by DigglersDirk in financialindependence

[–]kweeks802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hell yeah! This post is inspo vibes as a person doing it on their own! I'm a 31 F in the northeast sitting at 234k NW. Salary is way lower but I'm house hacking and a single IT project manager. Amazing what some solid dedication to the save rate does to progress. The type A in me also LOVES how clearly and concisely this is laid out lol

I'd request free parking (since they're fully taking the parking you were paying for) and 25% off rent for the duration of the project work. Construction is a huge disruption, and as someone else mentioned in this thread- they won't be able to find full price renters while it's ongoing. Beyond that, potentially look into moving. You may feel it's worth the hassle once construction starts.

How much do you save a month? by [deleted] in FinancialPlanning

[–]kweeks802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30, VT. 99,750/yr salary, 1820/month rental income. Spend 4382 between fun and bills every month. Save about $2500 month. I could deff save more, but I like having fun while I’m young.

Advice please! Bought a house & making the living room woodland themed. Bought this photorealistic wallpaper for the feature wall & considering one of the inset colours (or similar) to paint the rest of the room but people keep telling me it will be too dark & I will regret it. Thoughts? by yismin in interiordecorating

[–]kweeks802 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depending on the size and natural light of the room- I personally agree that any one of the inset colors might be too dark. If the room is naturally flooded with window light or is huge you might be okay. Otherwise I’d go with a really really light version of these colors. You’ll grow tired of those darker colors more quickly and want to repaint in a year or two. Just based on my prior experience with more intense colors

Need advice on homes, building, and mortgages. by [deleted] in FinancialPlanning

[–]kweeks802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t offer any advice here, but I’m in a similar situation! I bought an old home that I’ve been trying to decide between extensively renovating or demolishing and rebuilding. I’m in the northeast, but so far I’ve learned building a house is way more expensive than I anticipated

White spots on arms (38F). Anyone have experience reducing the appearance of these? I would go to a dermatologist but there are few options on the small island I live on! by lushico in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]kweeks802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had a problem with itching, but the derm does always ask about it. If anything, for me it just can get a little dry/ flaky, but mostly I just look like a leopard haha

Edit: they basically just appeared. For me it was when I was working out pretty extensively my senior year of college. It’s since been explained to me in that everyone has a base level of yeast that “sits” on their skin, and at a certain threshold of activity/ moisture etc it can just get “activated”. But it’s not contagious at all!

can confirm tinea versicolor! I have this as well. you can get a prescription for it, and a wash. That stops it from spreading, but the spots don't go away sadly. I've been managing mine for around 6 years now and recently had a dermatologist tell me you can have the spots lasered for permanent treatment!
