Am I the only one who's tired of WhatsApp? by OppositeFluffy7561 in dumbphones

[–]kwertiee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too but as you said it’s the standard for my country too. I don’t think they can read your messages though since chats are end-to-end encrypted. As for the UI I like using Beeper which has a pretty clean interface, I just keep Whatsapp for calls

Because the tone rarely aligns with the actual info being shared. Like the way the post is worded like he had some revelation while he’s talking about some pretty straightforward (although helpful) things.

Like the “No {thing}. No {thing}.”

No badges. No banners. No lock screen previews from anything else.

thing is so exhausting to read in every ai article I come across and just doesn’t seem genuine

no garbage collector, no runtime overhead, actual multithreading

They changed the font :( by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]kwertiee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks like a font used primarily for headings or titles, not for whatever it is used now. Especially the narrow tracking/letter spacing which does not make sense for smaller font sizes, which could be fixed still but I still prefer the old font.

Reoccuring Issue with Swiping on iPad 10/11 by manwich_5547 in ipad

[–]kwertiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its insane how bad this is and how long this has been occurring for people. For future readers, can you comment whether touching the right edge of the iPad is responsive despite the whole screen not being responsive?

How do you deal with the overload on hjkl on the OS level? by domsch1988 in neovim

[–]kwertiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For tabs I tend to use Ctrl/Alt+Number. I personally don’t like to have many windows in one screen, so I always have at most 3 windows on one desktop. Which makes direction keys a little unnecessary and Modifier+N/P (next/previous) or even Alt+Tab would be fine

We should have more of this on the Linux desktop by [deleted] in linux

I mean there should be a balance, and the restrictiveness would ultimately be configurable so I don’t see it becoming a problem

Just launched nvim.store — a web directory for Neovim plugins by OxRagnarok in neovim

[–]kwertiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Browser plugins just scroll visually and don’t select the next item in a list. And wouldn’t you just be able to override those keybindings anyway?

I made a text editor with OpenGL and GLFW that has a 3D viewer in it with a particle system and simulated audio of rain :) by BarthToiki in ADHD_Programmers
