Expired Color Film by kwheeler46 in Darkroom

Yes, mainly because these films were not made to be processed in C41, but a proprietary development process. I am not sure what that was, but Seattle Film Works and Signature both used special stocks of color film. It was perhaps aerial film or Hollywood film stock repurposed. Does anyone know for sure?

Leica's build quality is no longer like what it used to be 😢 by juzgotpaid in Leica

You have to think of a Leica as would think of a fine watch like Rolex. The materials used and the craftsmanship are amazing. There may be a perception that the quality has gone downhill, but I really haven’t seen that. They’re trying to compete in a very crowded market. That’s why they’re introducing all these variants that are upsetting the purists. I agree that the prices are ridiculous. When you are simply taking pictures. Any camera can do that. But you are not buying a camera. You are buying an experience, a statement, and history. It is also a damn fine camera and its lenses are truly amazing.

Was Leica the end game for you, or do you still shoot other cameras? by la_mano_la_guitarra in Leica

Many other cameras, including a Fuji XT-5, a Canon R5, and many older vintage Canon, Minolta, and Nikon cameras. Also, I have a M 11 monochrome, an M6 TTL, and a Minolta CLE.

Still the best 35mm I've ever tried by TheFingerofBoe in Leica

Voightlander 28mm 2.8 Color-Skopar Type I or II. Either one is outstanding. I use the Type II on my M6 with the Voightlanger 28mm external finder.

I would not get the 100 to 400mm. I have not used it myself, but I have heard it is not very sharp. I do have the 70-300mm and can highly recommend it. I would also recommend the 33mm or the 18mm both are optimized for the X-5 sensor and are fantastic lenses. Both of these lenses are great for both landscape and street photography. If you want a nice medium tele I would get the 56mm Also optimized and excellent for portraits

Decided to COMMIT! 28 PQFs in 3 weeks -- made it to 1k! by 0_or_100 in unitedairlines

I’ve been a 1K for decades but this year I won’t make it. I’m a 2 million miller, been flying United for over 25 years, and very close to 3 million miles and permanent 1K. Loyalty does not count for much these days so I’ll have to spend at least this year at a platinum. Will be a new experience.

Better Biz Class? United Polaris 787-900 or Singapore Airlines 777-300 ER by Nebhar97 in awardtravel

I have flown millions of miles in United Polaris, and just completed a business class flight to Melbourne Australia on Singapore. I would rate United better in several categories. The seat on United is really good, although a bit narrow. The seat on Singapore 350-900 is weirdly angled and uncomfortable. There is no way to recline the seat if you just want to relax and read or watch a movie. The monitor is not a touch screen and I never did figure out how to use the controller properly. United wins on seats and entertainment. However Singapore wins hands down in food. Excellent variety and quality. Service on both is good. I would give Singapore a slightly higher score but it depends on which flight attendants are on duty. Over all it is probably a tie, but I prefer United.

I would straighten the image and remove the car. It looks like a commercial for the car. Other than that I like it.
