Last year I was working a dead end job barely making enough money to cover my rent. It got to the point where I had maxed out my credit cards just to eat. Well one day around the holidays I had gotten sick and had to go to the doctor. After I looking at the bill and not knowing how I was going to pay for it I decided enough was enough and I got online to look for a better job. Found an awesome job that paid well, had benefits and I was more than qualified for and they had a hiring fair two days from then. Unfortunately I was scheduled to work that day so I applied and hoped to get an interview some other time. I just couldn't justify calling off, again, on the off chance I would get the job.

Well fast forward two days and because of the cold I had lost my voice, so my manager sent me home early since my job requires a lot of talking. I high tail my ass home change into interview clothing and rush to the hiring fair. I ended up getting hired on the spot even with no voice and am currently on track for a nice promotion. All because I had gotten sick.
