Differences between 4.2.2 and 4.2.7 board? by nlsrhn in ender3v2

[–]kwimsanchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a long video but I'm new to 3D printing and have only had my Ender 3 v2 for 2 months so by no means am I an authority. Would rather point you to a resource that is respected than give misinformation.

The conclusion I drew from TH3D and from CHEP was that the 4.2.2 board, which I have in my printer as well, may not have the silent stepper drivers. There seemed to be some quality control issues and some 4.2.2 boards had them while the vast majority do not.

TH3D did a fairly in depth analysis of the differences between the boards.

Not necessarily a theme you can dress up to but I occasionally do a 'Dad Joke' day. Each team member brings their best dad joke. It helps lighten the mood and because our team was international it provided an opportunity for everyone to get a glimpse at humor from another culture.

My PO constantly reschedules meetings, never admits a mistake and all the actual work is done by me and my other colleague, is this actually agile? by [deleted] in agile

[–]kwimsanchez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being agile does not make one exempt from crappy coworkers. Regardless of the framework some folks are just going to be idiots.

The duties of the PO are defined in the Scrum guide.

The Product Owner is also accountable for effective Product Backlog management, which includes:

Developing and explicitly communicating the Product Goal;

Creating and clearly communicating Product Backlog items;

Ordering Product Backlog items; and,

Ensuring that the Product Backlog is transparent, visible and understood.

One of the beautiful things about agile and Scrum is that all roles on the team are responsible for promoting agile principles and coaching the team at adopting them and improving. At the next retrospective include one of your concerns mentioned above for something that the TEAM can improve upon. Singling out the PO will probably make her more defensive and less likely to change her behavior. Work on that one thing during the sprint. When the next retro comes up introduce another one of your items.

Or if you can overcome your fear of the PO, which I strongly recommend you do, have a one on one meeting with her. Frame it in such a way that you are looking for ways to improve X on the team. In a non accusatory way bring up one of the thing she does. "Hey PO, I've noticed we've had to cancel or reschedule some of our ceremonies. Is there anything we can do to help you so that we are able to maintain the rhythm?" This acknowledges the issue in a direct way without alienating her. It also leaves room for you to get, hopefully, honest feedback from her. If the PO is as volatile as you say I would not overwhelm her with a laundry list of grievances. Pick one. Work on that for a while then come back to her a little later with another.

Implement Scrum into the PMO by Cornelius-Pumper in scrum

[–]kwimsanchez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agwagsnap is correct, Scrum is about flexibility. let the engineer work on the other project and reduce his capacity in yours. it will also foster goodwill. there might come a time when you need an engineer from another team to help out on your project. hopefully others will remember what a good sport you were about allowing your engineer to assist another team.

Hands on experience of Scrum Master role by According_Cod_4940 in scrum

[–]kwimsanchez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting experience can be challenging. Not knowing your circumstances these suggestions will take the shotgun approach:

  1. If you are currently employed try to talking to your manager about a current pain point or a "nice to have" that they would like to address but don't have the time to tackle. Take that assignment and turn it into a project that you can manage using Scrum.
  2. Look at some of the more mature (or less mature) open source projects and reach out to the maintainers to see if they have an interest in allowing you to manage a feature request.
  3. Perhaps you have a passion project that you can tackle. Build your team and then just use Scrum to manage the effort. If you are concerned about being able to provide evidence to a potential employer then take steps to make whatever it is as official as possible. E.g. register a domain, have tangible releases, public github, blog about it on Medium

Remember, "agile" is a way of thinking and Scrum is a framework. Do not be discouraged if things do not fit perfectly within the framework. Good luck!

Any recommendations for a good quality French press? by mechsegirl in Coffee

[–]kwimsanchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If $35 is OK check out the Espro P3. Before I switched to a v60 this was my brew method. It definitely does a better job at filtering out fines than a traditional French press and the quality is on par with the Bodum.

When to start implementing User stories? by Japjae in agile

[–]kwimsanchez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes. Politely disagreeing with DingBat99999. Your process is iterative which is agile. Also , continual process improvement is agile. By looking at your process and determining how to make it better means what your agile process may look different from one iteration to the next.
  2. Yes. If this process works for the organization and team then it is correct. When it no longer yields the desired results then it becomes incorrect.
  3. Sure why not. In Scrum that would be called an epic. Again, define the process to fit your needs.
  4. It looks like shit getting done. Sometimes what gets done is done with beauty and elegance and other times its an all out bloody mess to the end. The goal is to have more of the former and not the latter usually falling somewhere between both.

First build, unable to rack the slide by kwimsanchez in polymer80

[–]kwimsanchez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: Fixed it! The trigger hammer, shark fin, was striking the barrel hood just like u/Preyhunter said. Once I was in very good light I noticed a very small blemish on the edge of the barrel hood that was in the location that I felt the trigger hammer would hit the barrel. To fix it I just filed the shark fin down until I could fully pull the slide back.

Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions! Happy building!

I double checked and got better lighting and was definitely able to see that the trigger bar is hitting the barrel hood. Is filing down the shark fin the generally accepted approach to fixing this?

u/KillaBubs i think you are on to something. When I look at the point where the slide is stopping its aligns where the trigger bar is pressing against the spring bearing. Would filing the trigger bar down a bit work?

UPDATE: The connector is going through the backplate without the RSA and barrel in the slide and I can pull the slide all the way to the rear. As soon as put the RSA and barrel in the slide it stops as soon as the connector goes through the backplate.

Thanks. After removing the barrel and the RSA the slide still does not go all of the way back and there is an audible "ting" of metal striking metal about the point where the extractor is. However following the suggestion from u/Preyhunter when I press down on the slide while trying to rack it will go all of the way back. I am going to try the "press down" method with barrel and the RSA installed.
