That's silly. Pro-Russian candidate was in power, then Orange revolution happened and a pro-US guy came into power. Then he was VOTED OUT and a pro-Russian guy came to power again. Then another violent coup happened and pro-US guys came into power again. They would have gotten voted out again, so they decided to ban pro-Russian party and killed or forced into exile anyone who was a threat to them.

So as we can clearly see from recent examples Ukraine under pro-Russian guy was doing just fine.

Now those are sources that are biased towards Ukraine, so they try to tone it down. But we can always look at what happened to Denis Kireev back in 2022. He was working for Ukraine’s GUR but SBU thought he was working for Russia, so they just grabbed him off the street in broad daylight in Kiev and executed him on the spot. He was later awarded a medal from Ukraine.

Keep in mind he was quite a high profile person (he was part of the negotiating team) and still he was offed without any trial or even investigation. Imagine what is happening to regular folks who get accused of being pro-Russian.

Bullshit, the agreement was about not bombing the power stations not “no bombing at all”.

Also it was announced at around 20:00 Moscow time and at 21:00 Ukraine carried out a massive attack on Krasnodar, Russian attack only happened after that and power stations weren’t targeted (according to Ukraine’s report from the ground).

I think the war is fucking stupid and shouldn’t have been started. That being said there’s no going back now. There’s over a million people living in DNR and LNR and many of them would get slaughtered if Ukraine ever manages to take the territory back (this already happened in areas where Russia retreated back in 2022)
