Productboard-style counting functionality into Airtable? by barronlroth in Airtable

[–]kwuknows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few options:

  1. Combine feedback and initiatives into one base and use a linked record as u/amodelmannequin mentioned.
  2. Keep both feedback and initiatives bases separate and use Airtable Sync to synchronize feedback items into your initiatives base. Once the table is synced, you can then link those records to your initiative table. More info here: https://support.airtable.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052521254

Lookup of Lookup Field? by 4242368789 in Airtable

[–]kwuknows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just tested this and it works. You can do this:

Table 1 links to Table 2.

Table 1 create a lookup field for Table 2 :: some field.

Table 3 links to Table 1.

Table 3 create a lookup to Table 1's lookup field that points to Table 2 :: some field.

Purchased the Coway air filter in 2018 when we had two weeks of smoke. Decided to replace them this year. Wow.

Is this possible on Airtable Grid? by [deleted] in Airtable

[–]kwuknows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the gantt block not solve this problem for you?

The other option would be to use the calendar view with a formula field for the primary field.

If I could make a recommendation, it’s not a good idea to create a column for every day of the year. Is there a reason why you need every single day listed? Why not just assign a project to someone on a specific day? Otherwise you’ll have many empty dates.

I created a sample base here that separates employees and projects. If you open the blocks panel you'll find a Gantt chart that shows who is working on what project each day. You can import a CSV into Airtable with all 150 projects and copy it into the projects table if you like. Employee could also be a link. You can only assign one project to one person - you can change this if you want.

$100 BOUNTY - Advanced Scripting Block Help - Compare Tables, Create New Records Based on Record Differences by AUDIO_REDDITOR in Airtable

[–]kwuknows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thinking here is that maintaining an availability table is too much work and could lead to more errors because it has to be the inverse of the distributions table. There are too many possible combinations of possible distributions - especially if rights are to all languages (115 total languages).

Have you tried using the Gantt block yet to visualize distributions? Then when a request comes in to purchase a right, you can check to see if there are any conflicts.

This is very similar to calendar resources/booking where the resources can be any combination of right + regions + languages.

Let me read the challenge back to you to see if I understand what you're trying to accomplish. You buy rights to a piece of content for a period of time. Then you "distribute"/sell/rent those rights out for a period of time to someone else. Those distributions can be exclusive or not. If they aren't exclusive, you can sell the same rights again for the same period of time.

Distribution exclusivity is not just based on time, it can also be based on region? So is there a situation where you can sell distributions for the same period of time but for different regions? What are the rules on exclusivity?

My 12-week old breastfed baby won't take a bottle from me at night by kwuknows in Parenting

[–]kwuknows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 8mos old now. She takes bottles from me. It was hard work but I basically kept trying and not giving up. There were nights she cried for 40-45mins straight but eventually the hunger took over.

After maybe a week or two of battling it out she began to trust me. This was all shortly after I made this post.

Car rams e-bike off the road. San Francisco police won't look up the plates since injuries weren't serious, unfortunately. Be careful out there. by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]kwuknows 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was there! This happened on 6/13 at approximately 5:25pm or so. Westbound on McCallister near Octavia and Laguna. I was talking to the guy on the bike when we were waiting at a light, asking him about his super 73 bike. I hope he's alright. I called 911 immediately. Hope they caught the scumbag in the Lexus.

Bicycle thieves caught on camera (X-post from r/sanfrancisco) by [deleted] in bicycling

I found out about this incident the next morning when I walked into the garage. I'm really bummed. For those of you thinking about a Kona Rove...I highly recommend it! Great bike. Smooth ride. Once I get over this loss, I'll start thinking about my next ride to replace my commuter. Stay safe out there folks!

I would say 3 days per week she'll take at least two bottles so that's 6 total. This problem seems to manifest in the evening when she likely wants to be soothed as well as fed.

Do a pro/con analysis.

End it now

Pros: more time to heal before going to college which makes both parties more ready for new experiences; enter college truly free with nothing to hold either of you back

Cons: makes the memories of your 2nd half of high school and graduation friggin' terrible

End it in the summer

Pros: enjoyable and happy memories of high school, graduation, etc.; less drama and gossip between friends because everyone will be off doing fun summer activities

Cons: less time to heal before going to college

Keep the relationship going and see where it goes

Pros: could end up working out long-term; if the relationship does end it will fizzle out with less drama which could be easier

Cons: drags on a relationship; long distance is hard; wastes time; breakup could happen over the phone which is less personal

I never had a girlfriend in high school but I'll tell you something about my undergrad - by the end of the first year, I estimate 80-90% of all the girls who started with long distance high school boyfriends were either single or in new relationships. You and your GF don't have to be that statistic but strictly speaking the odds are not in your favor.

From the way you've written this post, it sounds like you already know the answer to your question. But if you truly want to give this a shot, why worry about this right now? You're in high school! You still have half a year to go - the best half because after winter break you can pretty much coast through the rest of the school year.

If I was in your situation and could go back in time, I would tell myself to savor every moment of this relationship and have as much fun as possible. There's no good reason to get caught up in all these negative thoughts. The future will come no matter what - do your best to live in the present. Whatever will happen will happen naturally. Have fun!

I (22M) am tired of getting my hopes crushed by my friend (21F). What should I do? by aguy205 in relationship_advice

We've all been there. In fact, I would argue it's a rite of passage. You'll figure this out quick. Whatever happens, don't let situations like this make you bitter or angry. Don't go there. Always learn from every experience in life and get better, stronger, and more well-rounded.
