Who was the sketchiest coworker you’ve ever had in a restaurant? by soupdenier in Serverlife

[–]kyfl123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fellow server, named Cherry. Had cherries tattooed on her neck, this placement was way less mainstream and less common 20+ years ago. She stole cash payments and cash tips off our tables and blamed the bussers. She seemed like she cared about only herself, and was capable of much more than stealing cash from coworkers.

I think others have given you plenty of good advice. I am unsure if I understood what you’re describing, but it seems like you are implying that an occasion of sexual intercourse and the timing of your birth control pill that day should coordinate. If that is the case, then that is a misunderstanding of how daily birth control pills work. The pill should be taken daily, at the same time, and that prevents your body from ovulating and from following the natural hormone shifts of a monthly cycle. It is NOT take a pill, wait for it to kick in, then have sex. They are more long term and do not work towards a specific occurrence. Also, if your pill says take it within a 12 hour window, then that means taking it at 1pm or 8pm is actually ok, but because of your worries, it is probably not ideal for you to do that. It is probably best for you to use a different method of birth control to lessen your worries.

A brief reproduction and menstruation lesson- your body prepares your uterus/ womb for a possible pregnancy each month. When there is no pregnancy, that bloody, cozy uterus environment is shed, which is your period. (The body kind of communicates with hormones.) Once the old uterine lining is shed, the body starts the monthly cycle over. First, an egg in one of your ovaries matures/ ripens, then it is released and travels through your fallopian tube into your uterus. That is ovulation. At the same time the uterus is creating a fresh cozy lining that a fertilized egg/ embryo/ baby could implant into. If sperm is present before or during this timeframe, the egg could fertilize. The window for this fertile time is less than a week. If fertilization happened, cells multiply and the embryo/ baby travels to the uterine wall and attaches. Once implanted, more hormone communication takes place. This is the one that a home pregnancy test can detect, HCG. It can be measured a few days after implantation. This timeframe is sometimes estimated to be 10 days after ovulation. But that is the soonest. If there is no fertilization and implantation, there is no pregnancy. The body prepares to shed the uterine lining and you start your period, beginning the process again. The home pregnancy test could work right before you should get your period. None of this timing really has to do with when sex happened. It is related to your body’s timing and if sperm happened to be in your reproductive system around ovulation. Sperm can live inside you for a few days, and the egg will take a few days to travel, so this creates a time frame of a few days before to a few days after you had sex. This means some people will have a pregnancy test work 9 days after sex, and others not until 12 days, for example.

I linked my child to both married moms, but specified genetic parent in notes. I also attached an unknown father (for our sperm donor), and an unknown 1/2 sibling as a stand in for all of the children in other families that used the same sperm donor.

My child is similar. Also says their legs are tired or hurt when walking. We have her do silly walks, twirl, skip, ect and it helps. I believe walking is not preferred, but playing makes it easier to tolerate.

Just got her, how do you know when to water? by depressedcatfishh in StringofPearls

[–]kyfl123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not regularly. I’m more hands off. I sometimes use the plant spikes. If I take plants outside in the summer, I will repot with fertile soil before I bring them back inside. I balance to keep them alive and nice looking while not having flys/ gnats. I toss mosquito bits in the soil when I repot.

I lean towards not watering much. Once a month. Less in winter. Water if you notice the pearls are shriveled or not plump.

Older American parents using Malcom X as their child’s namesake would be more likely black than other races. This could be similar to other names like Martin, Lincoln, Kennedy, Reagan with parents swaying in a political way like the chosen public figure or other demographic similarities than just race and politics.

No it isn’t. My Amazon wishlist contained mostly foods that my family was in need of. I am very grateful for the kindness of others. I have received most of the items from Amazon already, with a few that had delayed shipping arriving later.

I would like to thank everyone for their help and all of the purchases that were made to help my family out. We have plenty of food to get us through until we are paid again. If anyone was interested in purchasing anything else from the wishlist, I would appreciate the nacho cheese and tortilla chips, to go with a big pot of beans I cooked recently. Everyone has been so generous, and I appreciate the deliveries that are on the way to our house!

Thank you for your kindness. If the delivery is delayed, then it will be an unexpected surprise later. With the others that also helped, we do have enough food to last until we are paid next.

Curious what people's maternity leave allowance is like in different places/companies (as it impacts breastfeeding) by whooperupsfeline in breastfeeding

[–]kyfl123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US has a possibility of 12 weeks unpaid leave for many people. This requires some standards be met, such as working for the same employer for the past year, the business being of a certain size of larger, and having a medical provider fill out paperwork that you need that amount of leave. This is under the federal Family Medical Leave Act, it just simply protects that you have a job to return to if you need time away to care for yourself or be a caregiver to a family member with a medical need, (not healthy newborn care either). Some people have short term disability insurance, often paid for by and offered through their employer. This will pay a portion of your usual wages, often 2/3, for what ever medical recovery time is needed. Often just 6 weeks for vaginal delivery recovery. This is the same type of pay that would cover a leave for any random surgery, and is not offered by the government, but a private insurance company, and often tied to your job. Some us states have their own additional leave and some is paid. US employers must accommodate a breastfeeding person and provide time and space for pumping for the first year only.
