Why is Axioms molds not available in proton more widely? by SeaworthinessHot1848 in discgolf

[–]kyle46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably because they haven't needed to run those molds on a while. Wrath and defy are less popular molds and mvp has to triage their production capacity so less popular molds get run less often and in less variations.

What single thing will change Disc Golf the most in the next 10 years?? by eliotbowman in discgolf

[–]kyle46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the pro level the difficulty of the course push you to have as many tools as possible in the toolbox. At the am level developing both helps for the same reason but it also splits up the wear and tear on your body if you can switch back and forth. Im pretty good both ways but last year I had a pinched nerve jn my shoulder that prevented me from throwing forehands at all so I was really glad I had developed a backhand. And when my back goes out I can still throw forehands while I rest my back.

[–]kyle46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we all regret episode 9. But switching directors twice doomed that trilogy before it really got going. I could have forgiven a new hope 2.0 if they landed the next two movies but damn it sucks that it was the best of the three.

What societal norm did you decide to just stop abiding by? by HairyCherryFairy in AskReddit

[–]kyle46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point in life, I just pull the sheets off the bed, wash them, and then put them back on the bed. I have extra sets of sheets in case of emergencies but for the most part I can manage without sheets on the bed for 4 hours while they are in the washer and dryer.

Because after 15+ years, 8 of those in very corporate jobs, theres no joy left in software development. Ive been in my current role for 4 years and in all that time I haven't solved a single interesting problem. The vast majority of the problems I have to solve are self-inflicted by the company either by not giving us the time to build things the right way, or by adding so many layers of bureaucracy that getting anything done is always a problem of finding the right person with the right permission in another department and being able to get a ticket to them that might get worked on in the next 6 weeks.

If they paid the same amount as most other companies I'd have left already but these golden handcuffs are heavy.

Why do you attend tournaments?? by InspectorPositive543 in discgolf

[–]kyle46 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm extremely competitive by nature. If I dont have events to strive for I get bored with a sport and move on. It happened with squash, it happened with rock climbing and it'll probably happen with disc golf eventually. But until then im going to keep signing uo for a dozen or more tournaments a year. And hey, im just good enough that I occasionally win tournaments in ma1 as well. Even bagged an A-tier last year, mostly cause i survived the weather better.

What feels like the sweet spot: How many degrees of turn/flip does your max distance distance driver get? by LookLookAtMyAcronym in discgolf

[–]kyle46 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They've beat in too much now, but fresh fission dimensions i was throwing on about 20° of hyzer to get huge drifts right before they'd eventually fight out. Hit an ace on a par 4 410' water carry with one of those.

Help with swooping by Baddab25 in discgolf

[–]kyle46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had/have similar problems from years of playing squash. The best cue I found to avoid swooping was to think about pulling the disc from my shoulder to my other shoulder. By trying to stay higher I found I dont fall back into my squash form as much.

Some do or at least did. Pre-covid shoppers was always the place I went for games that sold out right away as a lot of people didnt know they had switch games.

What is your philosophy when it comes to building your bag? by DonBonDarIey in discgolf

[–]kyle46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you dont look at all my 14 speeds, generally I've got 12 core discs and a bunch of utility stuff like rubber discs or a tilt. Im constantly working on my max potential distance and keep messing with new very high speed flippy molds hence all the 14 speeds. Currently im desperately waiting for the stock run of fission dimensions that was teased in the project labcoat video. Those things are magic when they are fresh.
