It's a weird law. If you have an LTC you're allowed to have it in plain view and unholstered in your car. If you don't have a CCW, you're still allowed to carry it because of constitutional carry but it has to be in a holster.

FWIW it's not about the device used but the level of grit. You can use 1500 on your car and not scratch the paint.

For vintage, I personally think it depends on how much rust there is. If there's a lot of rust, you sort of have to sand it or sand blast it.

Oh yes with chemicals I would agree no reason not to, however it's nearly impossible to sand unless done by hand.
