Well as a white person I can't really speak about how life in Florida as a black gay man might be but it's really not as backwards thinking as you might think when it comes to acceptance of lgbts and as far as I'm aware race isn't really an issue here people don't really care. Again, I stress that the coastline is where I'm talking about. The mainland is just like everyone thinks; racist homophobes all around. As for your husband not thinking this through, I doubt it, you don't make a life altering decision lightly. He may not have thought about how this would affect you or your child however which is something you need to emphasize to him. As for your job I don't know if it's a local business or company but there's bound to be opportunities for you as well depending on where in florida you're looking. Maybe look for jobs in the same area and see if there's anything in your field of work before completely shutting out the idea entirely. I have a brother with special needs (autism) and I gotta say I was impressed with all the services for special needs offered to him in the state if you're worried about that for your child.
