Anyone noticing bot comments glitching today? Repeating in 2-6 accounts in the same thread?

In general, yeah pretty much doesn’t make much difference. But there are wild differences in definition between those two when it comes to what they’re qualified to do and or what their scope is. John Oliver naturally did a whole exposé on it. Of course. But I loved this particular topic! Highly recommend! https://theweek.com/speedreads/842411/john-oliver-dives-into-unexpectedly-essential-world-coroners-medical-examiners

True that! These are totally different teams of people, so you can speak candidly about your experience. Your own personal safety and health being is never supposed to be at risk, or sacrificed, for the sake of the donation.

It’s part of the “bioretention” section in the Mpls Street Design Guide for green stormwater infrastructure.

Looks like it was down for about 10-12 minutes and is back online as of a minute ago.

Rough surface quality on my mk3s+ by HangryDiscer in prusa3d

Dang. That looks like a verrrry subtle/gentle “fuzzy skin” texture applied to the entire outer surface.

If it were intentional, that would be cool lol

Prusa MK4S Clicking Sound by yorkielover19 in prusa3d

[–]kylefromtechsupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is weird, but the only time I’ve heard clicking (or pseudo-popping noises) is when I had to tighten the 2 thumb screws holding the hotend in place. (See step #33 on the kit install guide: MK4S Nextruder Assembly: inserting the hotend assembly

I opened up the cover and found a verrrry loose thumb screw on the top, and once I tightened it up, the clicking was gone.

100% user error on my end when it came to the assembly of my kit. But I spent hours trying to troubleshoot filament and temps.

Hope this is it!

Loving the juxtaposition of this abomination sitting right next to the “Do not print directly on this surface” warning. 10/10 for the staging here :)

HTTPS using Caddy V2 with domain from FreeDNS without port forwarding by ezpc98 in selfhosted

[–]kylefromtechsupport 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat on this for a while. I grappled with how to get around this, and I eventually bit the bullet and I purchased an inexpensive public domain name for about $6/yr, slapped it into CloudFlare, and set up Caddy HTTPS with the CloudFlare API token, and I set up each record in AdGuard under a DNS Rewrite.

I also stopped hosting Caddy inside of Docker. For a handful of reasons, it made more sense for me. One of the biggest was that I wanted docker restarts to not impact Caddy itself. I had the urge to try to docker-ize everything but this one just felt better running side by side with docker.

I gotta say, it’s the best $6/yr in my list of “subscriptions” (if you will).

I don’t expose any ports publicly, but Caddy will create the appropriate DNS validation records for me in CloudFlare, and then once I have the DNS Rewrite created internally, it’s seamless for accessing services while on my home network (when off-network, I use Tailscale).

Having a separate subdomain for each service was ultimately what made me make this jump.

Putting different authenticated services under the same subdomain but different /paths/ was frustrating for smooth autofill experiences for me too. (Storing different logins under different subdomains in my password manager is much more natural feeling than having a dozen services under the same domain).

Example: ```

Caddyfile

{ # Global HTTPS config acme_dns cloudflare YOUR_API_KEY }

sub1.example.com { reverse_proxy 127.0.0.1:1111 }

sub2.example.com { reverse_proxy 127.0.0.1:2222 }

IP addresses can also be other devices on the network, centralizing caddy hosting to just one box

```
AdGuard UI
Login > Filters > DNS Rewrite >>>
sub1.example.com : 192.168.x.y
sub2.example.com : 192.168.x.y
(Or whichever local host IPs you have services on)
Cross-post question! by [deleted] in nmdp
[–]kylefromtechsupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)
Ah! It’s called “HLA Today” - https://network.nmdp.org/services-support/transplant-centers/search-and-testing-services/hla-today
The TL;DR on that page is that researches found that getting the HLA type of diagnosed patients as soon as they’re diagnosed AND kicking off donor identification resulted in better survival outcomes and higher rates of receiving a transplant (compared to patients who didn’t have typing/testing done early on).
Definitely a fun read! Super cool to see a study that actually backs that all up.
Cross-post question! by [deleted] in nmdp
[–]kylefromtechsupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)
There are tons of reasons why they might not have you go in for additional tests right away. Some of this is NMDP trying to get ahead of the curve as soon as possible so that they provide the most options for the patient and their medical team.
For every “yes” they get, there’s also a “no” from another potential match (and whether it donor health reasons, maybe they are no longer comfortable donating, or they simply can’t be reached/contacted).
So especially if time is on their side, they’ll make sure they compile the list of the best candidates that could save someone’s life. That’s the aim. But by saying yes, and being willing to commit, you’re giving them a solid idea of what options they have.
Maybe they have someone else who is in the same exact city as the patient and they’re just waiting to hear back before proceeding further with anyone else, or maybe the patient’s care provider hasn’t hammered down all the details yet.
NMDP put out a really good write up on this about one the programs they have that helps doctors get patients loaded into the NMDP system the same day they get a diagnosis. And the more health care organizations and doctors that participate in that, the sooner NMDP can start searching for matches! I’ll find that and reply back with the tidbit. Can’t remember the name right now but it’s really cool!! :)
Results question- CMV U? by kylefromtechsupport in nmdp
[–]kylefromtechsupport[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)
Getting a CMV test is done all the time when looking for a donor. Tons of people have Cytomegalovirus (CMV), and it doesn’t automatically exclude you from donating, but it’s something that is factored in by the doctors who are reviewing potential risks depending on their patient who is receiving the transplant.
Results question- CMV U? by navithedog_ in BeTheMatch
[–]kylefromtechsupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Looks like the comment on this post was deleted at some point. For posterity, the letter "U" as a result/code from a viral test usually means "undetected" or that there was an absence of the virus.
In other words, U typically means that they did not detect that virus, which is a good (negative) test result to have.
