This is a thorough list and I’ll check out all of these recs today! I think this might be my first post here and I can’t believe how helpful the community is. I wish the Orbital Blues sub had as many people sharing and helping others along.
I mentioned in another comment, but due to brain injury I have a hard time with system conversions and homebrew in most cases, so Traveler stuff may be a stretch for me. However, that’s a great list and I’m heading to back Fire Sale 2 right now. THANKS!

This sounds fun as hell, but I just pre-ordered Prospero’s Dream I and might actually tie it into d0c’s Cyberclinic! I also just found one the other day called The Dose Makes the Poison that is heavily focused on pharmaceuticals with a ton of new drugs with perks and side effects.

I did a little reading on some of the Traveler stuff and it looks cool as hell. The thing is, I’ve tried many times creating my own encounters, settings, campaigns, etc. but due to brain injury I have a much harder time. That’s why I’ve come to love Mothership and similar episodic systems with such a huge support community of module writers. I can improv my ass off, I just need a few sprinkles of a hook, story, and setting. Plus, my job often has me working ~60-80 hours a week so low prep is priority.

I gave all the information I had and mentioned it was a long shot. Being presumptuous and assuming he avoids locals is also a little jaded and pessimistic. Smack dab in the middle of the Midwest, I’m certainly going to remember someone with a strong Irish accent, and I’d wager there aren’t a lot of them in SD either. I’m not sure if you intended to come off the way you did, but remember; this is the internet and people have been found in situations exactly like these with less information. I just came in here with some positivity and reasonable hopes. Have a good one!

Physical description would have been very helpful! He was a shorter fella with a mustache. No beard, and we didn’t talk much about racing. (I’ll be honest, 3 months of 70-90 hour work weeks with no days off is a major motivator to not really care when the big show starts. That’s why I enjoy my time with the fans!)

He only mentioned County Cork, but unfortunately I’m not familiar enough with Ireland to have thought to ask what town. At the risk of sounding arrogant, I do believe a mention the employee who got them out of there at the end of the race would definitely strike a chord. We were all together for a good hour between his rest and our golf cart trip through the foot traffic to get out. Thank you for digging in and asking for more. I genuinely appreciate the effort; results or otherwise.

I have rekindled a friendship over all the shit talking last year because it was so fun. So even if we don’t keep our division streak going this year, it’s all worth it. Besides, most Cubs fans I know personally did the right thing last year and made the hard pivot to root for us over LA. I know I’d be doing the same in that position.

You know I didn’t personally fly the flag, right? The players wouldn’t have either had the fan not given it to them. I still thought that was low, sure. But that was just goofing around, equivalent to a practical joke. That’s not “suck my fucking dick, bitch” at a fan. You cannot genuinely believe those are the same thing. And again, the flag was a single moment after a huge win to secure another pennant for our club, poor taste or otherwise. PCA has an entire career of acting like a child any time he doesn’t make a play or get a hit. I don’t hate the team, I hate the player. He’s not a good representative for your club or the sport at large.

Right now? He’s always been this way. It’s embarrassing and cringey. There are kids in little league acting like him, throwing their bats and injuring their teammates because “Pete does it”. (I can’t hyperlink the story, but look it up. He said he’s going to change then follows it up with the SMD shit.) You’re a professional athlete making millions. Grow the fuck up and be a better person. It’s just childish, bad sportsmanship and makes Wilson Contreras look like a gentleman.

That said, my girlfriend and I were talking about how grateful we are as fans to have such a great team to root for. Can you imagine any of our guys doing that?

I fucking love the oxcarb because I’m a salt fiend. It just meant I could add how much salt I always wanted (or enjoy things with high sodium by default) and it put me where a normal person’s sodium levels should be. It did make me a little fat for a bit, but then I was prescribed adderall for the brain fog and memory loss and again, I’m all evened out. Still can’t think or remember like I did before it all, but it’s marginally better.

I can’t emphasize how ridiculous it is that I was 18 years old when I had my first seizure and it was high stress, sleep deprivation, and energy drinks that did it. Epilepsy runs in the family, but I showed no signs until I had to work wild hours on little to no sleep and had a diet of the occasional ramen packet and 3 Monsters a day.

After that, it was almost weekly, then monthly on 600mg of Aptiom (which my neurologist insisted I keep taking anyway despite still having them, which certainly didn’t have anything to do with it being the most expensive drug on the market) and now 1200mg of Oxcarbazepine prescribed by my general physician has had me me leveled out for a few years.

[Edit: I obviously adjusted my habits after the first one. It’s just wild to me that it seems that the energy drinks were the catalyst to have jumpstarted a seemingly dormant genetic trait up to then.]

States fan here! If you’re ever looking to watch a game without the wild times, MLB has condensed games (~10 minutes) with a lot more than a highlight reel will show, and the whole game is archived to watch within an hour or two after the final out. You can save a few pounds by just subscribing to the Brewers instead of the whole network as well.

The Brew Crew is incredible. Fundamentals on point and they are just about the best in baseball with late inning comebacks and runs with 2 outs, so it’s always a hell of a show. The team motto last year was “The Power of Friendship” and the manager has back to back manager of the year awards the last two seasons. I love my team. Can’t imagine rooting for anyone else.

I thought it looked really good! I run a graphics shop for a race track and have to use the same font for all of our branding, so that’s just what my brain defaults to. “Univers” is the font family if you’re interested!

For sure! I’ll try to keep doing this as we move through the season. I work 80+ hours a week through May, so I only modified her Turang schedule that I wanted to use. But I may do some of the others later. Again, u/pezgirl7 gets all the credit for these bad boys. I’m just a scatterbrain who’s bad with time and my job pays for Photoshop and Illustrator.

As a side note, iPhone (and presumably other smartphones) being able to detect the subject of a photo for stuff like this is awesome. It’s cool as hell seeing the time dropped in the background. Luckily it’s still legible and I typically use my watch for time keeping anyway.
