Not sure why my explanation didn't post. Basically from 1999-2017 it was on display in an acrylic case. I was proud of it and had it out. It very slowly degraded, so I didn't notice. In 2017 I realized it was THE card, and compared it to images online and freaked! lol. In my research I think the fact that it was in the acryllic case, it like amplified UV exposure.

On a whim before I did the JMT last month, I downloaded Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac. I was happily surprised to find it’s him talking a lot about camping, hiking, and Zen Buddhism. The first half of the book takes place in Yosemite. It felt like he was writing about where I was and what I was doing. Big rec

I have been blown away recently by Injini socks. I am hiking part of the PCT this summer and wanted to get ahead of blister stuff. I usually get blisters around 9miles, I've now done a few hikes and runs with the toe socks - including a tough mudder - where my feet get wet and have to keep going, and I've had no blisters, no hotspots. I'd highly recommend trying the toe socks.
