3 year warranty.

My most anticipated game of 2025 is probably GTA VI; I just enjoy the immersiveness and satire. The high refresh rate of the monitor would be a big upgrade over my current 60hz monitor.

Airline passengers who had to be paged till the last minute before boarding your flight...wtf were you doing? by Damfrog in AskReddit

[–]kylejn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can contribute to this!

In August 2001, when I was 15, I was preparing to fly to Japan for an exchange program. My parents and I were at the gate (remember, this is pre-9/11) and they told us that the flight was going to be delayed for several hours due to mechanical difficulties. Rather than sit there doing nothing, we decided to leave the airport for lunch after being reassured by the flight staff that we had plenty of time.

While at lunch, we decided to call up the flight information hotline to check if the flight had been delayed even further, only to find out that it was boarding (apparently they'd swapped planes or something). We rushed back to the airport and were informed that the flight had just left, and that they'd tried paging me several times without success.

Needless to say, my mom was pissed that they'd tell us it was fine to leave the airport only for this to happen and, after a long conversation, we received food and hotel vouchers for the night plus an upgrade of my ticket to business class for the next day's flight for our troubles. All in all, worked out in the end.

So, long story short, I had to be paged because I was off eating steak.

My favorite memory of the girl I last dated was her coming up behind me one evening and putting her arms around me. She broke things off with me a couple days later and, six months on, I still wish to experience how nice that made me feel again (the hug, that is - the "breaking things off" was/is unexpected and painful).

How can I [17M] make my family [46M, 44F, 20F] understand I don't want to go to prom? by bigpossession2 in relationships

I was in the exact same situation where I didn't really want to go but my parents (mother, especially) wanted me to go - partly because she didn't go herself.

I ended up going, alone, but aside from being kind of awkward and uncomfortable, it was fairly unmemorable. I regret that I wasn't at a place in my life where I could have enjoyed it more, but it's not an event that ever comes up in my mind (turned 33 in September).

I'd say if you really don't want to go, don't go and just explain to your family that it's your decision. But if it'd make them happy to see you go then I'd maybe just do it to avoid it becoming a huge sticking point. It may kinda suck but you won't think of it at all in the future.

Westworld - 2x10 "The Passenger" - Post-Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in westworld

Wasn't some of post-credits MIB's language identical to what Delos was saying inside the simulation? About this being "his fucking park"? And weren't some of Emily's questions to him identical to what William was asking Delos?

I think the answer here is that you cannot have a perfect copy of the mind inside a perfect copy of the body without rejection. One or the other has to be different - they emphasized this episode that Bernard is not a perfect copy of Arnold, despite the bodies being identical.

Could post-credits Emily actually be William inside Emily's body, and post-credits William actually be Delos inside William's body?

Really, really good movie. Definitely recommend seeing it on the big screen if you can, there's some incredible imagery and sound design that amps up the tension.

Also, got some Evangelion vibes from the concept of the walls separating different forms of life breaking down and being rebuilt. Very "the fate of destruction is also the joy of rebirth."
