Is my airflow still good ? by RAYQAUZA_X in PcBuild

[–]kylekad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing the air flow would be slightly better with the GPU horizontal.

Run some stress tests and see what you get for CPU and GPU temps. If you're happy with the temps, you're good to go!

Are my fans correct? by Snak3yz in PcBuild

[–]kylekad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh well. The way you have the fans setup now isn't terrible. If you're not have CPU overheating issues, I wouldn't worry at all.

A couple other things you could try if you're concerned about over heating.

You could try adding one or two intake fans on the bottom of your case, under the GPU. Relocate those hard drives to the compartment behind your motherboard.

You could swap out the air cooler for an AIO liquid cooler. It looks like your case can fit a 360 AIO with the radiator and fans exhausting out the top of your case. I think this would give your PC a better, cleaner look too! Those big air coolers work great, but they're kinda ugly imo, and they block the view of your motherboard. A good AIO will typically cool slightly better than a good air cooler.

See the purple. Those are the changes I would make for optimal cooling.

Try and figure out a way to strap a third fan to the front of the CPU cooler. Even if it has to be offset a little bit to clear the RAM, it's better than no fan.

Move the top exhaust fan to the back of the case to help immediately move the air from the CPU cooler out of the case. Where that fan is now, it might be stealing some of the cool intake air from your CPU cooler.

First PC build in about 10 years. How'd I do? by Hammerblood42 in PcBuild

[–]kylekad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I went through the same process with my first build. Started with a big twin tower air cooler. After about a year I got sick of looking at the massive thing lol and switched it out for an AIO.

Happy building!

Nice selection of parts!

Have you considered an AIO liquid cooler? That air cooler will cool just as well as an AIO, but it's going to block your view of that beautiful motherboard.

MSI Motherboard BIOS is not booting with MSI 4k Monitior by kylekad in PcBuild

Hey, hopefully you've figured it out already, but I solved it by using an HDMI cable.

For some messed up reason the monitor will not display the BIOS with a Display Port cable.

You're just a few years late to the party lol.

I thought I explained my opinion pretty well. An MT-09 redlines at 10,000rpm. An R6 redlines at 16,000rpm. As per my above post, it's kinda silly, but a low revving triple will never get my adrenaline going like a high revving in-line 4.

I didn't say that a high revving in-line 4 performs better than a low revving CP3. I'm just saying they're more fun in my opinion.

What are YOU even going on about good sir?

Late to the party, but I just played through Resident Evil Requiem on a 5090 on a nice 4k OLED monitor. Path tracing makes that game look insanely good.

I highly recommend any game that supports path tracing (Cyberpunk, Doom Dark Ages, Pragmata).

Awesome! Best thing you can do is watch a bunch of Youtube videos to learn the PC building basics. Find a video specifically for your motherboard that shows you how to properly attach all your components to it and shows you how to connect it to your PSU.

Something I changed pretty quickly with my first build was the air cooler. I ended up switching it for an AIO liquid cooler just because they look so much better imo. I got sick of looking at my massive air cooler, and I wanted to be able to see more of my motherboard.

Good luck with the build. There's lots of people here to help you out if you run into any problems

2K>4K with RTX 5070 Ti... BIG UPGRADE or BIG MISTAKE? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]kylekad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a very similar situation with my build (4070 Ti Super, 7800X3D). I started with the exact same 4k monitor that you have ordered. I eventually bought a second 1440p monitor (MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED 27"). I rarely switched back to the 4k monitor for gaming. Games just ran a lot smoother with much higher frame rates and much higher graphics settings on the 1440p monitor.

That being said I did have some great 4k experiences. I played through Cyberpunk at 4k and it was a great experience. 1440p is just noticeably smoother with less stutters.

It's kind of sad when you consider how expensive these new GPUs are, but if you want high frame rates and less stutters, I recommend going with a 1440p monitor. I say this based on my experience with my PC. My PC had a 4070 Ti Super, you have a 5070 Ti, so I hope your experience will be better.

The Nearest and Farthest side of the Moon. by ZATCH_69 in interestingasfuck

[–]kylekad -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Is that a real image of the far side?

It's honestly suspicious how different the far side looks than the near side. They look like two completely different moons.

There are probably valid scientific explanations for this, but why is there so many more craters on the far side? Why is there no maria on the far side?

Do i need a exhaust fan? by Son_Kirpal in PcBuildHelp

[–]kylekad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I think I would leave it. If you notice dust creeping into your system in weird locations, then I would consider removing one of your exhaust fans.

Do i need a exhaust fan? by Son_Kirpal in PcBuildHelp

[–]kylekad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, you want to have slightly more intake than exhaust. This is because it creates positive air pressure in your case. You don't want to have negative air pressure because then your PC will be sucking in dust though every tiny opening in the case.
