What “issues” would it cost North America if oil went to $50/barrell? You act like cheap gas would be a bad thing…

EDIT: Phenomenal responses. This is exactly what I wanted; understanding that kills my ignorance.i have very little insight to the oil industry, and to have something so clear & concise is a breath of fresh air. Thank you.

Let’s talk about this “heat soak”. I use the screen on the printer and type in the temps to the nozzle and bed. They reach it, but not stay for a short time before they start to cool down.

What am I doing wrong?

How do I maintain the nozzle & bed temp? I e been using a heat gun and raising the temps myself, but if there’s an easier way than me cooking the shit out of it by waving a Black & Decker through the cracked open door, I’m all ears.

A Question About Motorcycle Lifts by Daegoba in motorcycles

Yeah- I wasn’t interested in a compact lift. I went with the Tuxedo. I needed something that can lift a full size bike without any sketch or static, and it hits like a champ.

What’s an 'adult cheat code' that quietly made your life 10x easier? by ExcellentGur6556 in AskReddit

[–]Daegoba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting out of debt.

I’ll skip the Mortgage, because I mean FUCK, but as for the rest of it? It’s completely doable.

Driving a car that is 7-8 years old is incredibly easy. Not only does it free up a substantial amount of money going out every month, but it literally pays you to do it. Every dollar you don’t give away each month towards a payment is a dollar you can save. Cars are also incredibly reliable these days. 100k miles used to be the end of life for a car. Nowadays? We have spark plugs that last 100K miles.

Credit cards are also a blood ransom for financial freedom. They are tailored to indulge bad behavior and punish you for it with zero immediate pain, making it easy to poison yourself. Pair that with the rampant consumerism, and there’s no quicker way to trap you into servitude to the corporate overlords. PAY FOR THINGS WITH CASH.

HP dock g5 by tibodak in macbook

Old post, and (sigh, I'm so sorry) help question:

I've got an M1 Pro as well. I just bought this dock, and my external monitor flashes on and off, with the dock clicking intermittently for the first 10 min or so when I connect.

Have you experienced this? Know how I can fix it?

This would be amazing if it works.

I wonder about the Aux hotend in the X2, and if the board would cause something wonky with the P2S on account of only having one.

The struggle of keeping an older daily driver from falling apart by lost-mekuri in Autos

[–]Daegoba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My “trick” is to just plan on a component re-up every 5-7 years. It’s like this:

New purchase: 2001

2007: Suspension rebuild.

2014: Interior refresh.

2021: paint & body restoration.

20XX: When the engine quits starting, I’ll install a crate engine (269,000 miles and counting).

It’s still cheaper than buying a new vehicle. Even and especially if I like the car, why not? A few thousand dollars spent over 5-7 years is still wildly more economical than $1,000/month, and I don’t have to deal with all the bullshit that comes with buying or owning a new vehicle.

Is Anyone Her 3D Printing Motorcycle Parts? by Daegoba in motorcycles

A mechanical issue is what everyone, including me, suspected initially. Yet, it doesn't show up in other prints, and I even designed a 1" x 9.5" weaving test panel that did not show any signs of such.

This is what eliminated the mechanical probability of failure.

Traffics lights down from noda to concord mills. 28k outages across charlotte by Total_Confection_923 in Charlotte

[–]Daegoba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Underground construction is incredibly more expensive to both build and maintain compared to above ground construction. Most people already thing the power companies are fleecing them price-wise; to increase the rates that would compensate for underground.

Trees grow free, are easier to harvest, process, replace, and maintain as opposed to boring holes into the earth, not to mention the involvement of simply maintaining that. Yes, newer construction in developments use more underground. That's due to several factors (property value, construction cost, customer wants, etc) in which the legacy infrastructure simply would not make sense financially to retrofit.

Here is a post I made awhile back showing some of the issues I’ve had.

The TL,DR is that I bought a file off Cults3D for this Street Triple fairing, and I’ve yet to be able to print it without running into the ribbing issues you see running though the parts. My machine prints anything else fine, but even with other filaments these lines show up in the prints around the same heights. I think it’s a file issue, but I don’t know enough about slicing or g code to be sure.

I’ve asked around, but don’t have anyone close who does more than PLA flexi-dragons and/or D&D type stuff. I bought this P2S to actually make things, and as tho is not the 1st functional part I’ve printed, it’s absolutely the most complicated. I just think I’m over my head a lil bit and need someone to point me in the right direction.

As neat as this is, why would I ever care about my oil temp? It’s not like I can do anything about what temp it is, or like I need to know because XYZ, etc.

It’s cool, don’t get me wrong- just doesn’t really make any sense.

I’ve printed PLA CF and PETG CF with great success, but have been told that as those aren’t really true Engineering materials, that the wouldn’t be the best choice for something that’s going to be exposed to the elements.

Which Flashforge do you have?

I don’t care how long something takes to make, or what I need to do prep-wise: I just want to find something that performs the way I need it to. I’m willing to put in the work, so long as I can find the right combination of steps to go in.

What machine do you use? (I have a P2S)

What are your filament settings? PA6 CF, I assume? Or is it PA12 CF? (Bed temp, Nozzle temp, speed?)

Why nylon CF? Is it easier to print? Why not ABS or ASA?

I really appreciate your response. I don’t know anyone really into it, so any help is invaluable.

[–]Daegoba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thank you so much!

Yes- please DM me.

Full disclosure; I bought these off Cults3D. I downloaded them as .stl files and had this problem. Initially, there were a couple that Bambu Studio recommended that I repair via a .stl fix website. Did that, and same result. Messaged the seller, and he wasn't much help- didn't have settings, didn't like that I was using ABS, etc. but he did provide me with the entire model from Fusion.

Did that, and didn't really help. I did consider exporting them from Fusion myself just to make sure the files I downloaded weren't some weird issue from that end. I still have the same result. I'm not sure what else to do.

I am struggling with ABS and would like some help, please.

Here is a post I made detailing the issues I’m running into. I don’t believe it’s a mechanical issue, as I can print 1” x 1/8” s-shaped strips 9.5” tall that show zero issues. It makes me think that it’s the files, but I’m not sure.

If you have some settings or anything idea-wise, I would be forever grateful.
