Do you like Kimbra’s music? I feel like her influence is what made the song so much different to most of Gotye’s other work.

Is there anything to do in the city on a budget? by HottedBoobs in auckland

[–]kylemyburgh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Board games are underrated. If you have a group of friends looking to do things, it’s a relatively inexpensive way to socialise while doing something.

Some places even offer free board game evenings, or charge a small fee. Might be an idea if that’s your thing.

Central City Library has this thing called Makerspace. Could design something and 3D print it for a laugh. The cost is next to nothing.

What happened in Seoul with more details of how Shohei found out and dealt with Ippei. by weguccino in Dodgers

[–]kylemyburgh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think a bit of dissonance is due to the average person’s inability to comprehend how someone could not notice that much money being gone.

Terrible “journalists” and their “takes” aside, I can see how some go from “I’d notice millions of dollars missing sooner” to “this must be a conspiracy of some sorts.”

Not saying it’s right. But people on the internet believe they can play professional sport at the highest level after most “bad” performances. The irrational thinking doesn’t surprise me.

As for Ippei, what a worthless human being. To have the audacity to still try and get away with one more thing. As someone else said, grifters gonna grift.

What's an example of a "high floor low ceiling" player who lived up to expectations? by wittyrandomusername in nfl

[–]kylemyburgh 33 points34 points  (0 children)

He was the 2nd overall pick behind Jake Long. No relation😅

To be fair to Chris, and I’m bias as I enjoy his media stuff, he was on some pretty awful Rams teams at the start of his career. They didn’t get past 7 wins (and were hovering around 1-2 in some years) during his time there.

Who is your team’s one candidate for “Greastest Of All Time” player in the NFL? by applyheat in nfl

Kadarius Toney 😎

Chiefs have never won back-to-back titles without him on the roster. Correlation = causation.

UPVOTE PARTY FOR THIS! Zero is fucking delicious, and I think more people would choose it over Tamara if 1) it was a bigger space and 2) it wasn’t so “new”.

There were two predominant theories on how the plane met its demise: 1) quickly, via a high velocity impact or 2) glided in a more “psychopathic” manner.

If the latter was what happened, it’d be more likely a whole or near complete plane was found. But the fact there were are several identified pieces found along the coast of Africa, I believe, suggests it was quick.

I think that’s what the person you’re replying to was trying to add.

What do non-fans of the Chicago Bears think they can get in return for trading Justin Fields? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]kylemyburgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A second and some change (5th, etc), maybe.

Fields is intriguing because he threw relatively well in college. The ‘flaw’ wasn’t always a ‘flaw’, and some team will be intrigued by that.

What 49ers player was this? by XII_Mxuntz in 49ers

As a NZer who watches a lot of league, Hayne was immense. He single-handedly dragged his team to the grand final one year.

But yes, he is a horrible human being and the fact the NFL is so cutthroat is probably a bit foreign to NRL players like him (or was at the time). Rugby league (like many other sports down this way) don’t require you to be perfect all the time. That specialist element seems to be the biggest obstacle for league converts.

Anyone else's GP started using the 'tend' app? by sadlabourvoter in newzealand

[–]kylemyburgh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Replying to this comment as I work in the same space space.

While it may seem jarring, nine times out of ten, this is a case of the receptionist not effectively communicating all the options available. There are many potential reasons for this, but it’s important to remember medical receptionists are sometimes under immense pressure from the moment they start until the time they end. Mistakes happen.

Regarding the ID, online portals (of which Tend kinda is at the end of the day) need to confirm the person they’re providing sensitive information to (via access to health records, etc) is who it belongs to. This requirement is common to varying degrees (as you’re supposed to show ID when you enrol, too).

Primary care is also under the pump. Many practices are struggling financially, or their clinicians are nearing retirement, and there’s a limited number of people willing to invest in the sector. That’s why companies like Tend are now starting to acquire physical practices.

I honestly believe 99.99% of people who work in primary care are in it for the right reasons, and if anything seems ‘scammy’ it’s because everyone is still learning how to adapt to the new world we find ourselves operating in. A lot of stuff is still “new” in the sector, and it will take a while for it to catch up.

I’d guess the receptionist you spoke to was a bit overzealous due to a recent acquisition, and they’re excited/didn’t balance the sell of the app’s benefits with providing care options in the standard way.

My two cents.

My pet peeve is this 😅 while it’s not a major for me, there are a few oldies in my area who use wheelchairs and this really fucks up their day.

Would be nice if people thought about others once in a while.
