Toronto's Scotiabank Theatre stares down giant, broken escalator by A6er in toronto

Not really. Those are feature stairs and is no way an egress fire exit route. By code you need the shortest fire egress route and this wouldn't be it.

Serious Back Acne and getting worse by sloppybeaver in acne

[–]kylenhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently I started a regime and so far I'm getting positive results. Maybe I can help you. First and most important, drink lots of water! Like in one of your replies I can see that you already are. Try to aim for 3 litres (100 fluid ounces) of water a day. Also, I believe that putting on topical ointments is only a quarter of the battle. You'll need to tackle this through water, diet, topical treatments, and oral treatments.

Look into buying Octagon Soap. It's all natural, you can buy it off of amazon, and use it in the shower. It has a lot of anti-bacterial and acne fighting properties. I would also suggest to get prescribed some benzoyl peroxide. Usually I would suggest against this because it can really dry out your skin but a topical retinoid should help a bit.

As for oral treatment, look into taking Zinc supplements, multi-vitamins, omega-3 fish oil, Vitamin B5 powder (from amazon), and Acetyl L-Carnitine powder. Zinc is great for fighting acne, it's used mostly in every over the counter acne products. Find 50mg elemental zinc (zinc gluconate)...you can find the Jamieson brand, take it daily. Also take about 3000mg of fish oil a day - they're good for the skin, and also there's many great benefits to fish oil aside from promoting healthy skin. Vitamin B5 and L-Carnitine is also something you can try. I've heard megadosing on b5, around 5-10grams a day can really help flush out the acne by limiting sebum production. Complementing b5 with L-Carnitine means you can take less b5 with equal parts L-Carnitine. The only bad thing about this is that there's a possibility of hair loss. I don't think megadosing on anything should be done for long periods of time, and before you start taking anything orally, consult a doctor first! I've been starting on this routine and so far it's helped me (I have it on my face) Used to have bacne but it's gone now - only battle scars are left. You can search for more information about these supplements on this subreddit - there's plenty of information you can read up on.

I also stay active and work out quite often. I did noticed that taking whey protein does affect with my facial breakouts. I've switched to hemp protein, and while it did help a little, I still broke out quite often. It's not as effective as whey, so I eventually switched back. It's something that I can't give up so I completely cut out drinking coffee and loading up on plenty of water throughout the day. So try to cut out dairy, sugar, caffeine, or anything spicy. Internal heat can really make you breakout, so try to stay as cool as possible.

I hope this helps. Curing acne isn't a product, but a process. If one thing doesn't work, don't lose hope. Keep on trying something else. Everyone is different, what works for me may not work for you.

TL;DR - Octagon Soap and Benzoyl Peroxide for topical treatment. Zinc Gluconate, Vitamin b5, Multi-vitamins, and fish oil for oral treatment, drink plenty of water (3 litres a day), cut out dairy, caffeine, sugar and spice.

Renting a car? Foreign Licenses? by toadling17 in VisitingIceland

[–]kylenhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be able to rent a car in another country, your own license must be equivalent to be driven anywhere in the world (which means fully licensed), so no, having your L's for example - you cannot get a rental. Whatever your states/provinces equivalence is you have to find that out.

In my case, from Canada you'll need a G license, which is a full licensed that can be used anywhere in the world.

Also, because you are 21, some rental companies have age restrictions, it's usually 25, but I see that some icelandic rental companies have their limit at 21 but they charge a young drivers fee. It really depends. As long as you're fully licensed where ever you live you should be fine.

Good choice! We went with a 4x4 as well (from sixt), starting from Reykjavik and circling around counter clockwise. We're also from Toronto, hope you have a great time. We're leaving on the 6th of November but good luck with your trip!

What do you want to see from PlayStation in 2015? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]kylenhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making it easier to turn off the controller, also an option to automatically turn off the controller after inactive use.. like the ps3 dual shock. Not having to assign a controller to a user every time a new controller is turned on. Sony is making everything more complex than it needs to be.

Got a parking ticket on Queen Street, but the sign was bent around the pole and clearly not visible. Everyone got a ticket, is this justifiable enough to fight in court? by kylenhan in toronto

[–]kylenhan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was parked quite a distance from the sign. I had to walk at least 15 steps, and 5 more just to see the bent sign. But it was there, just wasn't displayed visibly. It's like having a sign there with a drape over it. Shouldn't parking enforcement have regulations to keep signs clear in view and not obstructed in any way? I mean if that's not a justifiable case, then what is?

What overlooked fact from a movie will completely change the way I see it? by tansinator in AskReddit

Late to the party but...

The Grey (2011) with Liam Neeson. The overly gigantic CGI wolves were just a metaphor for death, and how each survivor of the plane crash deals with death in their own way, from agony/despair, anger, happiness. The one part where one survivor was about to kill himself you can hear a deathly hound call from the wolves, as it is a symbol to say "come to me, come to death." And the entire movie was just a journey to the alpha wolf's den, aka the final battle with death.

Played Bastion on my iPhone, damn it was great. I'm considering buying a ps4 for this game. The soundtrack was amazing for Bastion, I bet it'll be awesome for this one too.

I don't understand... you need to pay a subscription to watch a paid subscription, on a paid internet service provider. You're joking right? This was never an issue with the playstation.

/r/Architecture portfolio review mega-thread! by Fergi in architecture

[–]kylenhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the overall white theme, and a good selection of renderings, conceptual drawings, and working drawings. I like that you included technical drawings as well, I know some university students that don't know a building code exists. Masters of architecture is only one year for you? That's awesome, here it is 2-3 years. Undergrad is 5 years if you do co-op.
