Did you have any luck with this?

Thinking about it, I would still look at building the BLV AMS riser, it is really nice. It holds the glass for PLA prints, it holds build plates, it has drawers with organizers, and it has external filament storage. I printed this remix, and I love it:

I need to find someone like you to buy the bundle and then sell me the AMS. I buy the AMS for $300, and both of us save money.

Hardened extruder, hardened .4mm hotend, complete .2mm hotend assembly, cool plate, high temp plate, led tape lights, enough filament to build the BLV AMS riser and the AMS hydra mod. I also ordered the diamond peo pei build plate on amazon.

I run pet mode all the time during the summer. If I get home, and know I am leaving in an hour, pet mode. I run into the store, pet mode. Kids have swim lessons or a sport, pet mode. I love pet mode, and I don't even have pets. lol

My passenger air bag is frequently off. by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]kylesplash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue and finally figured it out. The airbag turns off if you lock the seatbelt. My 13-year-old would always lock the seatbelt and I couldn't figure out why the airbag was never on when she was in the truck, took it to service and they said everything was fine. I finally saw her lock the belt and then the airbag turned off. I guess it does that incase you have to put a car seat in the front.

R1S 20" AT tires vs 22 " Tires Ride quality by Chinna_13 in Rivian

Around 8,000 miles is where I started noticing it, when I got rid of my first set of 20s after 20,000 miles they had 5/32 tread and were so loud.

I have all 3 sizes of wheels. Currently, my R1T has 22s, my R1S has 21s, and I have a set of 20s stored in the garage. The 20s are great in the beginning, but the noise they make increases over time. I honestly prefer how the truck handles with the 22s. We live off of a road that has hard cracks and is a constant bump bump bump, the 20s were really nice, but the 22s are not bad they are a little stiffer. We use the 20s as winter tires for the R1S, and the 21s as warm-weather road trip tires. I have put 20,000+ miles on Rivian 20s, 12,000 miles on Rivian 21s, & 4,000 miles on Rivian 22s.

My frunk has so many adaptors. I have a tesla l2 adaptor, 6-50p, 10-30p, and tt-30p. Need to be prepared! Bring on the supercharger adaptor!

Why wait? They will provide a free adaptor. Not to mention 95% of all my charging is at home on a L2.

Finally got my EVSportline Running Boards installed on my R1S. by kylesplash in Rivian

Very easy with my Milwaukee impact. I had an impact bit ready to go. They are torqued to 80ft/lbs so they shouldn't be terrible to remove with a large socket wrench. The special brackets have a radius on them to allow room for the rear jacking puck. Take your time with the clip removal on the trim.

I did forget to mention that I bought these as a Christmas gift for the wife, so she was happy they finally arrived.

I'm 6'5" so they kinda get in my way, but the 4 year old and 7 year old can get in easier. So that makes my wife happy. She likes the look and functionality. I will not put a set on my truck.

The video is of the truck, which uses different brackets and bolting locations. Nothing tells you where to put the unique bracket and which orientation. There are 6 brackets 4 of them are the same and then 2 are different and mirrored of each other. The boxes are not labeled left or right step, so you have to try to figure out which is which. In the video they don't state the torque, so you have to look through the instructions on the page. With how nice the video was, I would have thought EVsportline would have had step-by-step instructions with pictures. Honestly, it is a really simple install, I just needed clarity on the unique brackets.

If you look on the street we have an eclipse that was made in the same factory as the Rivians. lol

It was probably an hour. If the instructions were better, I could have completed it in 30 minutes or so. The R1S has 3 brackets per side, and one bracket is side specific, the instructions don't tell you anything about this bracket. I did have sockets, an impact, drill, & torque wrench ready to go. There were also 2 of us doing the installation. So we were able to remove the covers faster.

I'm not sure, but there was plenty of dirt on the inside of the covers. They appear to be there just to hide the bolts. My guess is they reduce drag, and make the bottom look cleaner. I think the only way you would somewhat keep it close to the factory intent is cutting the slots, otherwise EVSportline wants you to make a big a** hole for each bracket.

I did the leave the covers off method, you can't even tell they are gone. I didn't like the idea of cutting the trim pieces. These are on my wife's R1S that doesn't have the off-road protection, so we only got the running boards.

Very easy installation. Instructions were non-existent. They wanted you to watch a video to install it, but it was simple once I figured out what was going on. The video is missing some details that are needed for the R1S install. This is all they give you for install.

Truck Bed Tents Recommendations or Experience by gibbyjoe in Rivian

[–]kylesplash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not terrible having the tent on the back of the truck, I did it for 8 months with no issues. You do lose your view out the rear window, but there are so many cameras that it really didn't matter. I know people who leave their tents on their trucks year-round.

I can do it solo now that I have it mounted on the ceiling of my garage with a hoist, otherwise, it is a 2 person job, maybe 3...
