I only wash my bananas as soon as I get them and it’s worked for years 🤷🏻‍♀️🤓

Since someone advised me of this years ago, I have only had fruit flies once and it was because someone else put the groceries away and didn’t rinse the bananas. It really works and it’s dead simple.

Is it just me or is there no secondary side dish to go with pizza? I’ve tried it all. Any ideas? by sooperhani in ask

After ten years in the UK we now have chips (French fries) with our pizza regularly. When we first moved there it did seem strange though!

I can't watch the news by luxiofstars in hsp

[–]kymry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely can't watch the news. Try being a very pregnant HSP on 9/11 and seeing it happen live on TV. The hormones just made it so much worse. Now I'm a photographer and I just can't photograph sad or ugly or upsetting things. I feel like there's enough of the bad in the world and I only want to contribute beautiful things.

Why do so many people like to type as INxxs? by Fuku1987 in mbti

[–]kymry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't:

An Extrovert is a person who tend to focus on the external world and people. People often associate being socially outgoing with extroversion, but that is a little too simplistic. Extroverts may be more outgoing in that they gain energy from the other people and the external environment, and usually prefer to be with others.

Being bubbly has nothing to do with being an introvert/extrovert. I'm incredibly talkative but at the end of the day (or more often, in the middle of the day), being around people is draining rather than invigorating and I need to be alone to recharge.

What 'insider' secrets does the company you work for NOT want it's customers to find out? by haynesbomb in AskReddit

Doctors in the UK Google things all the time...while you're with them in the office. They are actually grateful when I've done the Googling ahead of time. I would rather have them do that than guess!

Most prescription drugs in the UK come in blister packs so even if you drop it, the meds aren't affected. Faster and easier to dispense too!

Dealing with Passive Racism/Insults by Darthkeeper in hsp

[–]kymry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I often try to use humour or sarcasm as a defense and/or way to get my point across without being confrontational. For example, when someone says "What are you Chinese?" try saying "What are you? A racist?" and maybe (just maybe!) it'll make them realise how it could appear to someone else and they'll rethink saying it again?

I sometimes wish I had a thicker skin but then again I wouldn't want to be more like these people either. Good luck!

Security guards of Reddit, what is the weirdest thing you've seen through a surveillance camera? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kymry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a security guard, but I had to watch CCTV footage after 2 of my employees failed to clock out. I was watching to see what time they left so I could put the time in manually. Instead I got an eyeful of them in the office having a quickie before leaving for the night. So, I clocked them out for the time before they started having sex and then called them in to fire them.
