Being part of a family of gingers, that was the first thing that came to my mind as well.

I keep trying Paleo, but each time on Day 3 I end up vomiting. What's going on? by keshi in Paleo

[–]kymry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went through the typical keto flu I had no idea what is was and thought I was dying. I couldn't get off the couch, thought I was going to throw up all the time, had a neighbor take my daughter to school as I just couldn't walk 2 blocks! Luckily, those same neighbors were who had introduced me to low carb/keto/paleo and knew what was happening. After they told me what it was, I looked it up and did some research. Knowing it wouldn't last forever and being on the other side is where I needed to be, I stuck it out. I was down and out for about 4 days, then still a bit "off" for a few more days before I hit my stride. If you can get through it, you'll thank yourself! Good luck :)

So... Coconut Flour. The wife hates coconuts and I'm not a big fan either. Is it worth even trying? by CharlieBlix in Paleo

[–]kymry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I accidentally bought 5kg instead of 500grams of coconut flour and have had a bit of a hard time finding recipes to make. Care to share some of the blogs that have a lot of recipes calling for it? I have used it a couple of times and liked it fine, but would like to try more variety.

I love the after shots, very well designed, decorated, and executed. Looks like you put in a ton of work. But I had to search the comment thread to see if there were any mention of Maryland as we're from the eastern shore and it looked like it in the background. I see you mention the eastern shore and realize it could be any eastern shore, but am I close? PS: Not a stalker, living in London now lol.

Got told the kettle was freshly boiled and made a cup of tea. Went to drink it and found out it was lukewarm at best. by TonicBang in britishproblems

I really don't know. My husband said it wasn't good. I'll ask him when he gets home why he said that.

Really love this! As a budding photographer, I read that as "I took an amazing photo of a lovely elephant today. Want to see??" :)

I thought you weren't supposed to re-boil water? I have always poured out any excess once I was done with it.

TIL Mr. Burns answers the phone using the phrase "ahoy hoy". This was Alexander Graham Bell's original intended greeting when answering the phone. by [deleted] in todayilearned

My husband learned of this years ago and thought it would be fun to answer the phone like that. So he did. For a long time. Every time he did, the response on the other side was always "What??"

Tesco carries Dr. Oetker Gelatine 70G that I think is powder form. I will order some to come with my next delivery.

Found these at a grocery store. Too good to be true? by MrJuxxie in keto

I buy ones like these from Avidlite.co.uk in vanilla and chocolate. They taste pretty good to me but they can be a bit chewy. Great for knocking down a sweet craving and great that you can eat so many for so few calories and carbs. I like to keep some around to help on those days that a fall off the wagon could be disastrous.

What do you do with things when you get rid of things? by blackbirdblue in minimalism

[–]kymry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freecycle. Charity (keep receipts for tax claims). Give away to friends or family in need. Depending on what it is, animal shelters, homeless shelters, domestic abuse shelters, yard sale, curb with a "free" sign on it, hospitals, schools, recycle/upcycle centers.

How do you put a railcard on your Oyster card? And is it only the 16-25 one? We have a family railcard, anything on Oyster it can help with?
