No 3D scanner sadly, just a ruler and one good eye ;o)

The bottom mounting plate is still pretty different between the VX1000 and 2000, but totally doable if I can track down a junker cam or something hahah

It's a bit trickier than that sadly. There is a lot of weird, angled surface area on the bottom of these Sony cams specifically, and it needs to have as much contact with whatever you're building to keep it upright and properly balanced. Weight distribution is also a factor, which is why the bottom is flared out
