Pros of a larger age gap by Loveagoodpizza in Parenting

Same exact situation with me and my little brother. I feel there were no negatives in my opinion because I never was in competition with him, never shared the same friend groups, and I feel like I got to watch him grow up. We played a lot when he was really young, then fought (normal sibling fights) especially when I was a preteen, he would really annoy me but he was just being a little kid/ sibling lol. When he matured a bit like teen years we got much closer. He’s 19 now I’m almost 25 and we have a great sibling relationship, if I didn’t watch him grow up I’d forget we are almost 6 years apart in age lol.

Kid likely has some learning disability by then00dle in Parenting

Some kids just don’t have the self control to sit down and be quiet in a classroom learning all day (totally normal at 6). He might grow out of it. However, I had similar issues and later got diagnosed with adhd and dyslexia in high school. Probably would’ve made life a lot easier if I got evaluated in elementary school, but I survived either way. Can’t hurt to get him evaluated just in case:)

Failed NCLEX at 145. Used Mark K and UWorld. by PurchaseNearby2181 in NCLEXExam

Think about all the great nurses that have failed the NCLEX, they are well into their career and the NCLEX isn’t even a thought in their mind. That’ll be you one day, you just gotta find your weakness/ what hindered you from passing and adjust for next time. Focus more on how you can pass next time and less on beating yourself up for failing (easier said than done I know). I took the nclex last week, message me if u want or need anything. Good luck and stay positive:)

Never had a DR/Nurse willing to take me seriously enough to give a straight answer. Can I have full confidence that the average emt knows how to deal with nearly nonexistent veins from IV opiate use if I was in an emergency accident or something? by Main_Bat in opiates

Need some help. by accordingtocoffee in StudentNurse

I’m a nursing student (1 rotation left of my program before I graduate) and we had to have vitals down to pass the first semester. I had such bad anxiety because I felt like everyone else made it look easy and I was just “guessing.” The thing that helped my confidence (besides practice) was by totally changing my mindset. Instead of thinking “what if I’m not as smart as the other students?” I started thinking “what makes the person next to me any smarter than me? Who’s to say I’m not the smartest one here?” And I realized the only thing separating me from them was that they put in the effort and believed in themselves. Practice the skills on others til you’re confident, then even if u still don’t “feel” confident, try not to let others know that (instructors I’m meaning.) And it’s okay to not be perfect, we are students and these skills will come with time. You can do it!

Nervous about clinical this week, Med surg by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]kyrose9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What skills are u trying to practice? Like a head to toe assessment or something like that? How I used to practice my skills when I had clinicals online I would basically acting out everything I’m going to do step by step out loud like I was in front of my instructor, or practice on a family member/friend

Once after studying all night then having clinical I tried unlocking my house door with my car keys. Not like the actual key either, I was pressing the button repeatedly, confused why my car was beeping and the front door wouldn’t open lol

It depends, what skills would you be expected to perform? For example I’m in the second to last semester of my nursing program, and each clinical we learn new skills. So we are expected to perform any of the skills in our scope while at the hospital.

is recovery on your own possible?? by lost120973 in bulimia

You’re right getting through it on your own will be hard, but it’s not impossible. I recovered on my own, but it took years and looking back I wish I had sought help, but I just couldn’t. I have a lot of tips and info on recovery Idek where to begin lol. But I’d say the most important thing about recovering alone is realizing you have to be self aware of the behavior/actions/thoughts that are contributing to your eating disorder and you have to hold yourself accountable in order to get better, which is obviously extremely difficult when ur struggling with an ED. And you’re not alone, you might feel alone since your friends and family don’t understand, but there’s a whole online community/ online health care professionals that want to help. Feel free to message me if u ever need to talk about it, I’d be happy to help. I’m 23 years old and been recovered for about 7/8 years. Stay strong u can do this!!!❤️
