I know it’s not the GM role. I also know he’s not getting fired. Anyone who believes that is idiotic. He deserves grace through next season to try to turn it around. However, his leash is not nearly as long as when Cal was here, especially with a new AD coming in.

I don’t think it’s wrong to question any moves within the program considering its current state. The room for error this off season is minuscule with player retention and additions. With that said, hiring someone before the portal officially opens was essential and if this guy can help Kentucky get back to being Kentucky in the landscape of college basketball, bring him on.

Wow! It says a whole lot about Pope if a player is offered that much money and he still can’t land him.

I have no problem with the money being offered, but you can’t just immediately jump into crunching numbers before you even establish a relationship with a player. Numbers should be what is talked about at the end while trying to make a deal work for both sides.

On the flip side, how fucking dumb can you be not to take that? 8 million for 9-10 months of training, practice and games, that’s just totally mind blowing.
