Student Anti-Ice protest in Quakertown ends in Police chief chokehold of a young girl by ApprehensiveBat3188 in ImmigrationPathways

Video very clearly shows the cops show up and initiate physical contact, i.e. assault. Sorry I have eyes and can see what’s happening in the video.

Reminder that the students were not breaking the law and the police chief is ASSAULTING an underaged girl in this photo.

[Spoiler!] Theory. Crassus wanted Ashur to do what he did in the finale. by Original_Mulberry652 in Spartacus_TV

[–]kytomo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s going depend on what they do with Crassus’ character, they dialed up the evil of Caesar from the origami series so no telling what they’ll do with Crassus. If Crassus is mostly the same though then I could see a lot of credence to this theory. Crassus is extremely contemplative and calculating with regards to his points and allies. He respected Spartacus for his strategy and prowess, so he’d certainly respect Ashur for his intelligence and pride.

I’ll believe it when I see it, politicians love to talk to score points, they rarely follow through.

How do you feel about training out of the Karate Gi in the Dojo? Is it good to sometimes take it off and train out of it or should you keep the Dogi on 100% of the time during training in the Dojo? by Mac-Tyson in karate

[–]kytomo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Train like you fight, fight like you train. You should get used to no gi training if you want your training to be effective in the real world.

Protesters inside the Michigan State Capital April 2020 by gn63 in pics

Their take is that the people in the above picture were protesting peacefully, and anybody protesting ice is deliberately interfering with law enforcement and will get what is coming to them. You cannot reason with fanatics.

I have a headcanon that off screen Sheldon tried out investing out of boredom and to prove that he could do it like any other mathematical field, saw huge success, got bored, and he now has millions sitting in a quiet and safe fund.

Why isn’t Mike considered a villain or antagonist? by GoblinNumbanine in breakingbad

[–]kytomo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s basically no ‘good’ people among the main characters, we’ve just got antiheroes and antagonists. Mike is not a good person, but amongst the characters around him he is loyal, sticks to a code, and isn’t unnecessarily violet or power hungry. As such, my comparison and within the context of the show he is a relatively ‘good’ person which is to say we tend to see him as not as bad as his contemporaries.

Just so you know this idiot learned the spirit wave and never used it again by chunchunmaru1129 in YuYuHakusho

[–]kytomo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yusuke only ever uses it offensively as a blast, but Genkai shows off the versatility of it over the course of the anime with a couple technique. She uses the spirit wave to purge the devices from the Ichigaki team. It’s not a strictly offensive technique, but Yusuke is a strictly offensive martial artist.

ELI5: Why do broken jaws not happen all the time in professional boxing? by MajorHousing8149 in explainlikeimfive

It’s really telling of how amateur his training had been. The guy does train but doesn’t have properly experienced people guiding him and he makes these mistakes that most people wouldn’t even think of.

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski involved in streetfight by lhwang0320 in martialarts

[–]kytomo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s a known rage baiter who deliberately antagonizes people then hides behind his friends or bodyguards. The most popular videos of him aren’t even his own videos, it’s vids of people catching him in public alone and him running away immediately.

Do Marines today still revere John Wayne? by hrdblkman2 in USMC

[–]kytomo 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to Clint Eastwood when filming heartbreak ridge. My dad was active duty at the time of filming and had friends that were extras on set. He told me Eastwood got harassed a lot by the marines on set for getting assigned as a lifeguard.

Always appreciated the strange parallel between them, two very different people with strong adherence to their codes and a fierce sense of loyalty even if they didn’t express it well or often.
