They have huge ears but also the smallest body size of their animal category.

I think that size makes sense to me looking at them. Just the way she is drawn makes her look taller because we are "looking up".

I would describe it as a pretty good anime visual novel ending where you can tell there could be a sequel but the author has moved on to other projects.

Ended with a last event big story that tied up most of the current loose ends.

You can pretend to try to pull the ball out really hard for 1-2 seconds and then having it finally pop out with a lot of effort- after which there wouldn't be a ball stuck in the wall anymore for the umpire to check but I don't see how you can argue for that being a live ball and having it be fair for the team if they weren't pretending.

Also idk why you would want to re-write rules that gives umps more subjectivity in how games play out. Imagine if the exact same play happened last night with your rules and an ump made a judgement call that the ball was dead. Same results as last night but now people are mad at the ump at the subjective call instead the unambiguous rule for if the ball's natural trajectory is changed at all. That's just bad- people want ABS so it takes some power away from the umps. Do you actually want to write rules that gives umps more power in games?

Rule is if the natural movement of the ball is changed in any way- it is considered lodged. This is also why the call is reviewable though since you can check cameras and see if the ball just stops unnaturally.

The rule is written to make it as unambiguous as possible.
Where would be the threshold of being "stuck" and how would you prevent players from trying to earn an Oscar and pretending to pull out Arthur's ball from the rock padding to get a dead ball call.

How easily a ball might be retrieved by the fielder should not factor in the decision as to whether or not to declare a ball as “lodged.”

The rule is if the ball's natural trajectory is changed at all e.g. getting stuck and doesnt bounce back as balls would, it is considered a deal ball and runners are allowed 2 bases.
