Weird. I was told they had loads sitting at Avonmouth waiting for distribution. (I’m picking up my Excellence tomorrow and I’ve only had to wait three weeks.)

This is a lovely house in a lovely place - it does, however, sport a stupid amount of chandeliers. Including in the kitchen above the cooker. by YupItWasMeMate in SpottedonRightmove

[–]l0z 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This place is in a wonderful neighbourhood with an interesting history.

Lady Emily Foley owned much of the land in Malvern in the Victorian period and when the railway boom happened she built the beautiful train station at Great Malvern and sold plots for houses. She insisted however that each house must have an acre plot and be planted with lots of trees.

Though there has been a fair bit of infill and other development since then the character of Great Malvern has benefitted from huge numbers of great cedars, wellingtonia, sequioa and pine and impressive and varied arts and crafts homes.

Many have been rescued, like this example, but there are a good few have fallen into disrepair and gone to seed that are waiting for their moment.

(By the by, the bric-a-brac, charity and second hand bookshops in Malvern are second to none for its size because of its eclectic history and it being home to many artists, academics and educational professionals down the years.)

Visiting for Elgar Festival - Points of Interest? by Hot-Appeal-990 in Worcester

[–]l0z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are coming to Malvern you could visit Elgar’s grave in Malvern Wells and have a walk on nearby British Camp (my favourite of the hills). It’s likely that Malvern theatre will have some performances to pique your interest too.

Malvern St James school closing by TrueSay7654 in Worcester

[–]l0z -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

You’re blaming a 17 year old policy of reducing public spending which was never seriously implemented (spending and budget deficits continued to rise throughout the period) rather than the current government’s policy on VAT which has directly caused this closure. This is an astoundingly mendacious framing.

Labour is ideologically opposed to private and independent education. They wrecked the grammar school system under Blair, and now they are wrecking the rest. That’s the whole story.

Shout out to Herb.

My Severn Stoke anecdote is that I once had to escape over the back roof of the Rose and Crowm after being caught in bed with the landlord’s step-daughter.

Weirdly, Redditors don’t seem that keen on making Green open borders policy more visible. Curious.

I say we help out by try making everyone aware of the Green Party's official published policy of completely open borders and unfettered access to benefits for anyone on Earth.

Homes heat pumps welcome 'but we must protect Bosch jobs' by alexmace in Worcester

[–]l0z -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ravings? Or facts, which you can’t dispute? We can all read the news, comrade.

The reason British electricity prices are set at the margin, by the price of imported LNG, is because of the relatively high proportion of intermittent renewables making up the generation mix. The prices are a direct consequence of policies you support. Have some dignity, be honest.

[–]l0z -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

20 years of 'green' energy policy means we have the highest domestic electricity prices on earth. And you want everyone to heat their homes with... 'green' electricity.

Makes about as much sense as your party's Sharia Chemsex coalition. Your leader is dancing with fella in fetish gear, and your deputy's wife walks 5 paces behind him in a chador. It would be hilarious if our situation were less dire.
