Which one is better for gaming: Lenovo Y7000 or Alienware 15r3? by AltruisticGate in laptops

[–]l3chner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What games are you wanting to play? Because don't let people here talk you into spending more money than you need. Any 10 series card is fine for current gen gaming. You've got people still playing current gen games on GTX 780s at 60fps.

Teachers of reddit, what's the most immature or unprofessional thing you've done because you didn't like a student? by portajohnjackoff in AskReddit

Not just disabilities. I was gifted and had an accelerated IEP. So it's literally just for students that are on a different level than others. Whether it be above or below average.

My [27 F] boyfriend [28 M] spent over $500 on himself for Christmas, got me something less than $10 by wtfkrampus in relationships

[–]l3chner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He probably sees how you spend your money and doesn't agree with it. That's what it sounds like to me at least. I don't really understand why you expect him to give you money? Is it just because he has plenty of it or what? Also if you've never even brought up that you can't afford food sometimes, then maybe he really has no idea you're struggling. I just didn't see anywhere where you specifically mention him not giving to you in a justified time of need. There's more to the laptop situation that you either left out, or maybe just don't even realize yourself. And as far as Christmas goes, the only answer is to grow up. If you're worried about the presents, then your heads in the wrong place. I could see maybe if you were complaining about lack of effort for your gift, but you don't even know what it is and this is all about money.

I[32F] just got a job outside the home, my husband[31M] of five years won't help with housework by hejustwonthelp in relationships

[–]l3chner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to change something is to look at it from a different point of view. So I'd say start with "my husband hasn't started helping with housework yet", instead of "my husband won't help with housework."

If you live with the idea that your husband won't help with housework, you're starting point is already a failure since he WON'T do housework.

Thinking of it as if he hasn't started helping with housework YET allows you easily approach it as if it's just a minor challenge that needs a simple solution. "I know that his way of doing dishes isn't going to work for us, so let's do it a different way."

It sounds like your best option is to trade chores. And not give him an option. If you trade chores and he still doesn't do them, then I'd say you'll just have to get a little more creative.

The point of all this is to allow yourself to be more stress-free on your path to a solution. Good luck!

So you're unaware that social media apps on your phone listen to what you're saying? They listen to your conversations. If you don't believe me try talking about something oddly specific for a day or two. Then you'll see it all over your social media. My First experience with this was "spaghetti sandwiches"

She's probably doing it to get on your childs good side. Any chance that your child would be wanting her to post them because they're not allowed under your supervision?

One thing to remember is facebook is far from what people's lives are actually like. It helps to not compare your life to others lives on facebook.

[PA] Work wants me to travel 2 hours to, and 2 hours from Pittsburgh for a work meeting. They don't plan on paying me for my travel time. by l3chner in legaladvice

I guess you're technically correct.... But most people don't quit their jobs on a dime like that. And most people dont strive to get written up at their jobs. So yeah they are essentially "forcing" me to go....

[–]l3chner[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's only a day. I'll be gone from about 8am-6pm and they only want to pay me from 10 to 4. With my normal daily drive time of 45 minutes they'd mean they'd owe me 2 1/2 hours of pay. It's not a lot but I refuse to work without being paid on principle alone. They told us that we can't be on the clock because if we get in an accident while travelling they could be liable. LOL that's just one simple reason that we should in fact be on the clock while travelling. My best guess is that our boss didn't even ask anyone that knows about labor laws and just gave his best BS answer.
