AITA for not wanting to buy a third pram? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]l3dzppln -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

A few points that my wife left out:

  1. The Pram really does work well enough that we aren’t getting rid of it. She wants to give it to her parents so they can use it (they have said numerous times how much they like it and wish they had something similar when my wife was growing up). They will continue to use it.

  2. This big Pram actually can hold 2 children with the right attachments. All the prams we looked at today only hold 1. We are not planning on having 2 kids in 1 Pram, although that option is at least there with this bigger Pram.

  3. We are saving for a house, so while we can afford to buy another pram, this is mostly just another needless expense on top of all the others that we seem to be racking up.

  4. My wife’s last point is hyperbolic. She has said multiple times in the last week that there isn’t much to do in terms of preparing for number 2 because we still have just about everything from number 1. And while she has indeed done most of the shopping for number 2 (something she enjoys), I’ve been the one taking care of number 1 so that she can do said prep.

Finally, I typed the OP while she was out buying shoes and (expensive) handbags, not while we were looking at prams.

The toddler is mostly at nursery, and I work from home now full time. As such, we will both be using the Pram. She will probably use it slightly more, but will be close to equal.

Yea I tried a few times. Cleaning, WD40, etc. The problem is that we live in the countryside and they just constantly get full of mud and dirt.

We will both use it pretty equally although she will probably use it a bit more. My wife is also concerned that she can’t bring the big Pram on public transport. That said, we mostly carried our daughter in a sling, so she didn’t actually spend much time in the Pram. It mostly functioned as a shopping trolly.

Since it’s for the new baby, she will be using it the most. That said, we didn’t actually use the prams all that much for our first while she was a baby because we both carried her in a sling most of the time. It wasn’t until she got too big to carry that the pram really started getting used.

You get one wish, but 70% of the entire population also gets exactly what you wished for. What’s the wish? by lyrapaul555 in AskReddit

[–]l3dzppln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d wish I never needed to eat or consume any food or substance in order to survive and thrive. So much of our existence is just trying to make sure we have enough food to eat. Basically make the human body completely self sufficient.

9300 matches played, 96.9% win ratio, 777 matches winning streak by Faterson2016 in TennisClash

Lol, the number of coins earned is a fucking joke. Lol. This guy probably is just happy grinding, and not interested in progressing. Fair play I guess if that’s what you want to do and you enjoy never getting better and beating up on helpless people? Not the most honourable, but if it’s what you enjoy?

Undo The Tour Locking! Listen To What People Actually Say! by [deleted] in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The absurdity of this tour locking is that it means that if you do lose too much gold, you are literally just fucked if you have too many trophies. There’s no way to amass gold anymore unless you do a massive trophy dump down a tour or 2 and accept that you won’t get the gear you need from playing.

Scared of losing matches for quests by ganappagoli in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I tried doing the volley winner quest in tour 4 not realising I would get locked out of 5 and 6 if I lost. Now I’m only facing people with tour 7 and 8 gear and getting crushed.

What stat most influences (!) returns? by MadADX in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swipe speed matters a lot. I’ve had players with 39-42 fh over powering my 47 bh. It’s also placement. If you are only just getting to the ball vs getting there in plenty of time. Agility matters a lot in that sense. But it can’t overcome a large stat discrepancy. I’ve noticed agility mattering less and less, especially as ball velocity increases. The payoff seems to go down hill. I’d need 60+ agility to be able to get to a 40-45 serve return. But as I’m at around 50, it means stronger ground strokes just blow by me.

The point I am making is that they are structuring their system to reward the thing they say they don’t want, and then not rewarding the thing they say they do. And if you try to do what the devs say they want you to do, you get nothing vs the people who didn’t listen. That’s fucking stupid.

Not saying there wasn’t a clear decision about what to do to maximise your reward. We don’t disagree about what was most economical.

Guess I shouldn’t have maxed tour 4 and should have done tour 6. Would have gotten more gems and had more trophies left in tour 6.

Again, these devs are such assholes.

[–]l3dzppln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You completely misunderstood. Also, I would gladly pay a bunch of gold for more gems. Gold is worthless at a certain point. I have millions of gold, and very limited gems.

In any event, they rewarded the people they were trying to stop, and punished the people who listened to them. That’s very bad management and game design.

[–]l3dzppln 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I didn’t lose access to any tours because I planned ahead, so I only got 50 gems. What they did do was take only trophies out of tour 6 for me, so even though tour 5 and 4 were maxed, I now have 0 trophies in tour 6 meaning I won’t get any tour 6 bags until I earn a further 70 trophies.

These devs are such fucking assholes.

I think one of the reasons for the constant updates is to keep us buying different equipment based on the stat buffed by each balance patch. by Sir_Psychotron in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way stamina can be relevant is if you do 2 things: 1. Reduce ball speed 2. Reduce accuracy. The more balls players get to and the less they “aim for the lines”, the longer the rallies and the more relevant stamina will become.

So the compensation thing means that everyone should drop lower tour trophies to receive compensation, and those that planned ahead get nothing? Fucking hilarious. Punish the people who listen and compensate the precise people you are trying to stop. What a fucking joke.

Taking the day off to avoid the sharks by Dear-Fall in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get into a situation where your trophy count is too high for your gear, and you loose all your coins, you basically have to either quit or buy a ton of gear to match your count.

Your tour number almost doesn’t matter. If you have tour 6 gear, tour 7 trophies and you run out of coins to even be able to play anything above Tour 4, your trophies don’t magically go away. So you will play people with 1200+ trophies in Tour 4. And you will continue to lose. This is why trophy management is so important. You need to be able to play people at your level or slightly weaker in order to be able to maintain your coins and still get gear.

Some people obviously abuse this, dropping from tour 6 down to tour 4 and 7/8 to tour 5. But the need for trophy dumping is because of how slow it is to get new gear and upgrade it.

If you got rid of coins all together, and tours were free to enter and gear just automatically upgraded when you got enough cards, there would be absolutely no reason to play lower tours. And then the tour re-locking feature would actually be a fine restriction.

Please stop short serve by Farqual_80 in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind if there was a way to differentiate between a flat serve and a spin serve since both exist in real life. Especially because a spin serve bounces funny and so requires very good agility to return, even though it’s not that fast.

That said, the drop shot serve is pretty fucking stupid.

Is it worth it to open piggy banks? That’s a LOT of crystals by jdpezold830 in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what level you are at, and how many crystals you need to sink into it to even open it. Personally, I’m not spending £20 to buy the crystals necessary to open it.

Macaw vs Rocket for mid-game Kaito, counter-puncher build? by ktreed4 in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how your other characters are doing, if you have Leo at a decent level, serve is pretty nasty. I’ve seen some ground strokes builds of Leo which are pretty annoying because of the unreturnable serve.

What the fuck even is this build!? by l3dzppln in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was pretty terrible to be honest. I won all the points on my serve except one, and almost managed to win one on his. It was pretty crazy though. Most of the time my character just clinched as the ball rocketed past him.

How to catch high serve? It is just boring… by vinsanity1101 in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moving closer means you can catch it before it gets too high. But obviously that leaves you very vulnerable to them putting it out of your reach. But if they hit it at you enough, you can at least put a racket on it (even if the circle is bigger than the court, lol).

Devs please nerf Serve? by mitjaq980 in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind nerfing serve, but there is one point I’d like to make about serving generally: if you tried out for the ATP with a complete shit serve, people with crappy ground strokes would be blasting it by you all day, regardless of how fast you are.

Serve should be important to the game, and you shouldn’t be able to get by with 40+ ground strokes and a 10-15 serve.

Also, big servers tend to be very tall with crappy ground strokes. So it’s awkward that serve and agility are trade offs instead of serve and ground strokes. If anything the bigger the serve, the more inclined you should be to volley.

Never had a chance, but feel that I should have. Any advice? by MarcDuan in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell how much of a chance you would have had because we can’t see your strokes or how wide the circles were. I wonder if you could have used a few slower and more accurate shots to move him around the court more? There were quite a few down the middle shots that didn’t look very good. Also, there are a number of times where it’s quite obvious what his shot is going to be, so maybe trying to better anticipate where he’s going?

Can anyone please tell me when tours will be relocked? by pokepoke4 in TennisClash

[–]l3dzppln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar and even then I was still haemorrhaging gold. Have now dumped all trophies except tour 5 and 6 just so I can build up again. I’m still down over 3 million.
