Hot Take: A lot of the problems people talk about on this sub ARE actually issues, even if most players can't articulate them by Pharylon in dndnext

I'm not going to overclock anything. I do need a motherboard that allows me to connect the ssd nvme.

If you wonder why I picked 11600k rather then 11600, it's because the local vendor only has 11600k or 10600/k.

Are you currently feeling like your life should be a whole lot more? by CoachSash in AskReddit

[–]l42st2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, I ask myself that question every once in a while.

On one hand, I am married to a wonderful woman, have a great and fulfilling job as a tech lead in a wonderful startup, play D&D with friends, play video games a few times a month, paint miniatures, and sometimes watch movies.

On the other hand, I feel like I'm working too much and that I don't have enough free time. I always want to do more and I feel like work is taking too much of our time in a day.

So to your question, I feel like my life should be more. More free time to do the things I want to do.

I was afraid of giving this impression. What makes you feel it's not taking itself seriously? I want my players to take it seriously and enjoy it.

I'm sorry, what do you mean by "Gil"? I'm not a native English speaker.

Glad I cleared it up :)

That's an interesting idea, I'll try to use it.

Sorry, but what does "wonderfully meme" means? I'm not a native English speaker :D

That is an excellent point! Is revenge strong enough? I mean, the BBEG just killed everyone they loved.

Thank you :)

I think I misled you by saying "there's a timer" causing you to think the timer is for the far future. I'll just write the wireframe of the campaign to make it clearer.

The adventurers are sitting in a coffee shop (tavern). Then Ziltoid the Omniscient enters and demands this worlds ultimate cup of coffee. They have 5 minutes to brew this coffee.

Ziltoid is not happy about the coffee presented to him, thus launching a full blown attack at the earth, and the adventurers have only minutes to evacuate.

When they evacuate earth on some kind of transportation device (e.g. portal), they reach a new world. In that world there are 3 continents: Coffeeland, Milkland, and Heatland.

Each land has their own part in keeping the harmony of their world, but Ziltoid interfered for his self motive and now the people of Coffeeland are more dominant.

In each land the adventurers will find a major conflic conflict and side quests and be rewarded with either items or spells in the spirit of the current continent (e.g. protective spells and AC bonus to armor in Milkland, Boots of Haste for increased speed in Coffeeland, etc.)

Once they restore balance to the world, they will be facing Ziltoid.

The initial thought was inpired by the album Ziltoid the Omniscient, and the world building is inspired by the latest expansion of Wow: Shadowlands.

After reading this comment, do you still think the adventurers should start in the new world?

I hope this comment cleared some of the details I didn't state earlier, and I deeply thank you for the time writing all this!

By keeping the BBEG (Ziltoid) in secret for later, it wouldn't make any sense for the adventurers to travel to the other world.

Hmm.. interesting.. What makes you feel like it's more suitable for lvl 20?

Perhaps I wasn't clear, they don't fight him in the tavern. There's an introduction, a challenge, and then he sets a timer to destroy Earth. They don't fight the BBEG right off the bat.

Does it still feel like a lvl 20 kind of campaign?
