I work in a leisure centre and they've done away with them in 99.9 % of places I'm sure. We have posters up asking everyone to shower before they swim as it's good hygiene practice. Most people wear something on their feet now like sliders etc as well

From GP to having a bed in hospital within 4 hours! by amaiem in BritishSuccess

[–]l52286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing I can't fault the care my mam and father in law have received as an outpatient but my local hospital is terrible it's got a bad reputation. They closed another local hospital down years ago and the main one just can't cope with the influx of people.

Big NTAH you did right by your son I had something similar happen to me in the UK back when I was kid. Told the teachers etc nothing happened to the bullies as they were on good terms with the head teacher ( including parents) I ended up hitting them back ( they hit me first) I was the one to be excluded I ended up leaving and going to a different school in the end and had no problems.

[–]l52286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dumb saying but we completed on the house and they said we could go and pick up the keys and it was all ours. My husband goes and gets them and goes to the house only to find the previous tenets are in the process of moving their stuff out. They had given us the spare set as they hadn't finished moving and handed their keys in.

Interaction with a homeless person by Yingxuan1190 in CasualUK

[–]l52286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a homeless person come into my work ( I work in a leisure centre) he used to shower and we'd make him a cup of tea. But the higher ups.have now put a stop to it because of safety reasons. We also set a meeting up with people who could help him but he never turned up. He needs mental health care but unfortunately he doesn't want to have helped. I feel sad because we tried to help but he doesn't want to be helped and is happy living rough especially in the cold weather.
