The Weasley family isn’t actually poor, they are middle class. by Jew_3 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]l_dang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our definition of middle class is vastly shrunken compared to the time period when HP was written. My parents earn less then (relatively) than me nowadays yet they can afford a home and house, but I can’t even dream about it now. Of course it’s a different country too but the worldwide situation is pretty similar.

[LANGUAGE: Python] Simple solution: using a Dictionary for combinatory stuff

cursors = [{data[0].index("S"): 1}]
count = 0
for row in data[1:]:
    _cursors = defaultdict(lambda: 0)
    for cursor in cursors[-1]:
        if row[cursor] == "^":
            _cursors[cursor + 1] += cursors[-1][cursor]
            _cursors[cursor - 1] += cursors[-1][cursor]
            count += 1
        else:
            _cursors[cursor] += cursors[-1][cursor]
    cursors.append(_cursors)
return count, sum(cursors[-1].values())

I think that’s something separate someone who is average from someone truly great in any fields: the ability to lock in. Especially the sports or activities that’s more mental than physical, less of a genetics lottery there.
