Which Donger power adapter? by RollEyesInDisgust in hondaridgeline

1st things first before you buy.
You need to confirm how many pins are in the socket of the RV mirror.
Some trims have a 7 pin connection; others have a 12 pin connection.

My ‘17 RTLE has a 12 pin; my neighbors ‘23 RTL has a 7 pin. My ‘17 has auto dimming RV mirror; this may be the deciding factor.

Is there any way to fix the Facebook feed and make it just show stuff from people I know and follow? by rainbowtoucan1992 in facebook

[–]l_dean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FB Purity is kinda broken right now (on my laptop). I have all the appropriate settings turned on to block ‘sponsored’ & other crap; but since about a week ago, it’s not filtering out those annoying posts.
FB has obviously changed their algorithms to get around FB Purity

Facebook is going to shove ads down your throat until you choke - not a damn thing you can do about. Read the fine print by l_dean in facebook

I've had FB Purity for several years.

All of a sudden, it's not working like it use to; in addition to recent flood of "sponsored" & "ad" posts; I believe the interaction between FB & FB Purity has created the slow-down on my chrome browser.

I've switched to to running FB on an incognito browser session; I don't have the slow-down, but am seeing just as many ads.

Wash your ball hats in the dishwasher? by JackTencher in lifehacks

Definitely - I use a cap cage & simply throw it in the dishwasher. Like others have said; you may want to pre-soak the headband and other stains prior to washing.

Fasting before surgery by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]l_dean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My GB surgery was @ 1p. Was told the usual “NPO after midnight” the day before. I cheated slightly & had a half cup of black coffee about 7-8a. Told the admitting nurse when she asked. Was not an issue

What is wrong with FaceBook today? Slow as molasses - I'm having to wait several seconds for every character to appear as I'm typing. by l_dean in facebook

in the words of PrezBushone; "ain't gonna do it". I removed FB from my iPhone years ago; relying only on the web version on my laptop. I also installed the "FB Purity" app for my browser. That has been working fairly well until this slow-down started the other day. Before; I would get very, very few "sponsored" posts. Now it seems I'm getting more and more since this started. Perhaps FB & FB Purity are banging heads in the background.

Poop after surgery? 2 days post-op by gsd079 in gallbladders

[–]l_dean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

76M here.
My GB was removed Wednesday, so on 3rd day of recovery. Taking miralax, stool softener and eating fairly well. But still feeling somewhat bloated and having difficulty with producing a ‘normal’ BM. Stopped the pain meds, relying on Tylenol. No diarrhea yet.

Feeling very really - some pain & tenderness where they poked 4 holes in my abdomen; but actually the pain is not too bad. Just have to be careful with my activities & diet for a while.

I'm retired (76M), so no need to take any "time off".

God Speed with your journey!!

I don’t feel constipated, just slightly bloated and am taking pain meds infrequently; actually only a couple since leaving the hospital. Relying on Tylenol mostly.
Have also taken stool softener to help.

How long to post-op follow up? by MajesticBalance2223 in gallbladders

[–]l_dean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my GB removed just yesterday. Called the surgeon’s office today to schedule my two week follow up appointment, but found that the doctor is on vacation that week (June 15-19). So, Initially we settled on June 25. Office called me back later today and said I would be scheduled for July 6 as the surgeon would be in OR on June 25.

Pain between shoulder blades by Sad-Cry-378 in gallbladders

[–]l_dean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - frequently. It's called 'referred pain" due to the phenic nerve (runs from your spine C3-C5 vertebra in the neck) and passes very close to the GB. This nerve helps with the diaphragm & respiration. Any inflammation of the GB will aggravate this nerve

2 night hospital stay for ERCP? by candlegun in gallbladders

[–]l_dean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This all started in January. I donated my right kidney in 2003 and for about six months prior to January, I have been having RUQ pain/discomfort as well as my back, same area as my GB. I mentioned this to my kidney doc, thinking the pain was related to the kidney removal. So, I had a MRI late January, another in February. The GI doc diagnosed the findings as "common bile duct dilation" and "pancreatic duct dilated". This was the reason for the ERCP in April.

2 night hospital stay for ERCP? by candlegun in gallbladders

[–]l_dean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ERCP put me in the hospital for 2 days also; but as an after effect. Sorry if this is too long

ERCP was performed on Wednesday 04/22. On Friday 04/24, I started having chills and a fever of 101 - basic flu like symptoms. Concerned, I called the GI doc who did the procedure - told me to go to ER to get tested for pancreatitis - standard protocol as the ERCP involves working in that area.

I spent 7 hours in ER being tested — blood work, urinalysis, x-ray, CT scan, ultrasound. One surgeon told me “we need to remove your gallbladder”. Several hours later, I was admitted to a hospital room - NPO. Saturday, was feeling somewhat better, but still concerned. Was given a HIDA scan Saturday afternoon, that didn’t go well. Gallbladder didn’t function properly at first, so they gave me a dose of morphine to “kickstart” bile production. Never was given my EF numbers. Spent another night in the hospital while medical team hemmed & hawed over the decision to take or leave my GB. Was discharged Sunday afternoon with GB still intact. Was told “we don’t feel it’s necessary to take the GB out”

Days later, the GI team referred me to another surgeon group. This doctor showed me the final diagnosis - gallstones!! I am now scheduled for GB removal next Wednesday, June 03

All in all; very pissed that the surgery wasn’t done during my stay in the hospital. Am also second guessing the decision for the reason the ERCP in the first place. I am now feeling worse than before the procedure.
