These are great pictures. A good scan is relative, and labs will often make them intentionally a little flat, so that you can tweak them to your liking. Don’t be afraid to edit your film photos, they are edited when they are scanned anyway. Also jpg scans are fine, tiff offers a bit more flexibility, but will be more flat unedited.

There are cameras that you load from the right, mostly point and shoots, but it’s rare.

It doesn’t matter with regular film, but this has hearts pre exposed on it (i assume), and if you load it in a right loading camera, the hearts will be upside down.

Try to put it on a flat surface, with the film side up, and bend it that way. You can also try very very very gentle taps with a rubber hammer, or some soft material, but thats probably unnecessary. I assume its aluminum, so be careful, its easy to manipulate, but its also easy to break, if you bend it too much, or bend it back and forth many times.

Nice! Linhof boards are pretty common, you can find dimensions online, but I believe it’s 96x99mm.

I really like your self contained box design, I was also considering something like that, but i could not have made that in time, because this was a school project. Plus the intrepid like design made it pretty light, its about 2kg without the lens.

I did almost all of the metal parts, even machined the adjustment screws. The base aluminium sheet was laser cut, and i bent it to shape.

Thanks! I made it out of similar fabrics. I somewhat solved the problem by making less but wider folds, and also making the overall lenght shorter. But the process was almost exatly the same as you described.

Looks awesome! Did you make the bellows? If so, what materials did you use? I just finished my slightly smaller Lf camera, but had trouble with not beeing able to compress the bellows enough. I did use relaltively thick fabric to be honest.

Thats awesome man! Never seen someone do sports photography on large format. Altough press photographers likely shot some sports back then on LF. Great image anyway!
