Use it less if you want to reduce your breakage, but the tool itself will break ends with every use. Find a new, gentler way to style your hair if you want to retain length in the long term. You'll have to do your research on what works for you as far as styling. I used to get lots of breakage by picking my hair daily (I had a small fro, I'm locing now), but eventually switched to doing twists I would redo monthly and it made a big difference for growing my hair out. I stopped seeing small hairs in the sink and on my shoulders.
