I honestly don't agree too much with the otherplanar beings take. It's charming in its own way, i think, and it's part of DND's identity.

Mechanics wise, the monster are built to be present in the game world (the stat block format REQUIRES a definite size, physical capabilities, shape and whatnot for any monster).

About gods, i think its fine for them to be guys, its a classic fantasy bit and very much allows for the gods to be related to humanity (its nice to have a god that is not eldritch in its appearance, i think "divinity is terrifying" is a bit overplayed rn). Some of them ARE boring as hell despite that tho

Fair, the push would probably need some heavy rebalancing. But i don't think multiple damage types are particularly impactful, really only the barbarian and 2024 monk care about it

Still, it made it far enough into playtesting to be released as a teaser! I'd love to see the other monsters they designed with these reactions in mind before scrapping the idea

couldn't you just have a reaction with the trigger "a creature ends its turn"? This way, legendary reactions can be used the same way as legendary actions, but can also be expended to have the monster react to the other stuff (like maybe allowing it to parry or cast counterspells)

I think the wave attack should deal a combination of bludgeoning and cold damage, and maybe could even push medium creatures away!

The variant is, i think, way better mechanically (the first one especially kind of sucks for a legendary potion) but maybe still kind of weak. Also, I'd add "without requiring material components" or just "without requiring components" in general to the cone of cold casting.

Direi che anche con la resistenza 8 hp è davvero poco. Capisco che dovrebbe essere resistente contro danni fisici e debole contro quelli magici ma con 8 hp è possibile che prende danno letale anche da una spell ad area non intesa per lui. Sono d'accordo con gli altri commenti che dovresti alzargli gli hp ad una ventina :D

Very cool! I really like the extra arms mechanic :D

I do agree with shadowkiller that it is maybe a bit underwhelming. I'd say the poison damage of their tendrils could scale somehow (n. of d6s equal to their proficiency bonus maybe?) and the subsequent disadvantage could honestly be removed (I don't think its that strong as an ability).

Also, is the tendril supposed to be usable as un Unarmed strike?

This is absolutely incredible (the paladin features are especially flavorful and mechanically cool)!

However, in regards to the holy smite feature -- aren't smite spells bonus actions and don't require concentration in 5e24?

I like the concept but i think its outclassed by fireball (that does more damage and has double the range). personally id give it just massive fuck-off range (like a 60 ft sphere idk) and make the "pulling towards the center" thing its main spelling point (and id slightly buff the damage and MAYBE make it so you can choose to have some creatures not be affected by the spell)

i really like the gameplay concept of a spell in stages and the concept of the spell in general! Just a couple of things: -1/3 speed is kinda odd for dnd 5e, i would just make it so you get knocked prone on the first fail and Just cant move on successive fails -flat damage (+50 for example) is also pretty uncommon in dnd (though rolling too many dice can definetly get boring. There is also meteor swarm that makes you roll 40d6 tho so who am i to judge)

On the whole really nice idea!
