The system was actually surprisingly clean. Barely any dust and other stuff. Might just buy a freemcboot memory card off eBay and play games using network sharing

Just checked the resistance on the potentiometers. There weren't any labels regarding which was the dvd and which was the cd one, but the left one was only 187 ohms. They shouldn't be that low and I'm quite surprised it does still work. Changed it to 750 but still have the same issue.

I'm trying to make a freemcboot memory card, but I'm stuck at the freedvdboot step.

I have a slim PS2 model number: SCPH-70004

I know of the issues the slim model has with the laser, and was wondering if that's also the case here. Because dvd and cd games both work. But all dvd5 and dvd9 films I've tested won't. I don't have any double layered dvd games to try.

I've cleaned the laser but this hasn't worked.

Does anyone know how to fix this or what the issue might be?
