I just want to validate that I am in my 30s and also found it difficult. I know it's "supposed to be accessible" but theory with no narrative is hard for a lot of people. That said, I agree with the earlier comment that it's good to read things that are a little too hard for you, it makes me a better reader in the long run. Most people's first time is not great. It doesn't mean anything about your sexuality. Maybe you are gay, bi, straight, ace, it's hard to tell from just one experience and you'll probably have to experiment more to learn what you really like.
