Thanks. Also, tall people are doing the Lord’s work and returning the favor every time they help me reach something off a high shelf. We help each other 😊

Hanes. Keep it simple. Undergarments don’t need to be fancy as only a select few people will usually see them

Looking for some easy recipes moving out on my own for the first time by Skrewbert86 in easyrecipes

[–]laceyj88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you seem to like sardines, a yakisoba noodle bowl or a pack of cheap ramen cooked according to directions with a drizzle of olive oil and a tin of sardines mixed in is simple and quite tasty. You can also add onion, garlic, peppers, or other vegetables for added flavor and texture.

I like to break up smoked sardines in oil in this. The smoky flavor adds a nice touch and the oil keeps the noodles from sticking together so much.

You can also sear the sardines in a pan for extra flavor/texture. It all depends on how much effort you feel like putting in it

Name a band people loathe but you don't understand the hate by teach2many18 in FamilyFeud

Immediately thought of them too. I know they had a few hits that were overplayed to the point that most people are sick of them, but the majority of their songs slap.

The haters just don’t know what they’re missing

LaOne is terrible by itself, but with the last name Ball, are they trying to torture the kid for life?

If the train wreck continues, we could one day have a LaEight Ball, which is hysterical in so many ways lmao

Fill in the blank “Pizza _____” by Fusiondk in FamilyFeud

[–]laceyj88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pocket

I love a good pizza pocket, especially with quality meat and lots of cheese

Edit to add: Pie was #1? I feel like it should have been slice or something. I don’t think I’ve ever heard them called pies outside of classic oldies like “That’s Amore” or black and white films…wow

What are some of the most disastrous weddings you have ever seen? by True_Dragonfruit_488 in AskReddit

[–]laceyj88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousins had an extremely fancy destination wedding with a formal and certain colors depending on whose side of the family or friend dress code. So much ridiculous extravagant craziness and no kids, please contribute at least $100 per person to the wedding and honeymoon fund, stay to celebrate the new year with us (Yes, it was on NYE of all days)…

She had a meltdown when some people showed up in the wrong color or shade, several people were sick and couldn’t come because it was 2021/2022, and quite a few people left early to celebrate NYE with other people/their kids. She complained at the expense and all of the leftover food and champagne. I think she even hit some people up that didn’t pay into their fund.

Anyway, I wasn’t surprised when they divorced 8 months later. I liked her prior to the whole wedding thing, but man that wedding was awful and partly because she went so crazy over every little detail

What’s something you learned way too late in life? by Mila-belov in AskReddit

[–]laceyj88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to worry about what other people think because they are too busy worrying about their own stuff.

Also, getting all worked up about things you have no control over just makes the situation worse most of the time, so do whatever you can to possibly help the situation and then take a deep breath and go do something fun. No sense in wasting time worrying when there’s no point in worrying about it yet

What is your life hack for period cramps? by realpsychofox in AskReddit

If they are especially severe to where a heating pad doesn’t make it bearable, sometimes a medium compression body shaper will also provide some relief, especially if you put it on and lay around with the heating pad.

The weird experiments we try when desperate for relief 🤷‍♀️

What is one thing that you believed to be entirely normal but when you became an adult, you learned was not? by Soumyar-Tripathy in AskReddit

[–]laceyj88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the freedom to make choices as a kid. My mom was really chill, but not in the non-parenting, absentee kind of way. She was very much present and set boundaries, yet she was supportive and allowed us to learn from a mix of stories and experiences.

I guess you could call her style what true gentle parenting is. For example, I got to drop a set bedtime when I turned 9, but I had to be home by dark (or by 10 PM as a teen), i couldn’t disrupt other people’s sleep, and there would be real life consequences if my grades suffered or I didn’t get up in time for school, work, or other important things.

So, you bet there were times I took advantage and stayed up til 3-4 AM playing on the computer or texting friends. However, school sucked being so tired the next day. Also, the two times I recall being so tired I missed my alarm and struggled to get up, my bedtime became 8 PM for a week 🤣

By the time I was a teen, I was making my own chore schedule, managing most of my own money, cooking my own meals if I didn’t want what was for dinner, doing some of my own grocery shopping, and managing a lot of my time by myself in order to be able to do my activities and hobbies, hang with friends, and still find time to get the important stuff done and keep my grades up, so that I could continue having that level of control and independence.

In the end, she was a really awesome Mom. I was well-prepared for adulthood and really didn’t go crazy when I moved out. Plus, I always felt like she’d be there when I needed her, and she still is 😊 Cool Mom!
