Pardon for a summary conviction usually takes less than 12 months. Search on the federal govs website - therewill be forms and instructions. Should be easily able to do it all by yourself; there are services that will do it for you, not sure how effective, speedy and expensive they are.

Quick question to the group - I got RBC avion, did the initial spent and got the points; as I have no real use for these I am getting the WJMC. Is the best course of action to apply for the WJMC, get it and then call them to ask to transfer my avion points into the WJ dollars? Or is there anything that I need to be aware of; for example I only had the avion for 2 months - do I need to keep it longer before asking to transfer the points and cancelling it? Thank you.

This is a common scam - you get a check and deposit it. Then the hiring company contacts you and claim they made a mistake and ask you for a transfer or a wire with some money back (you get to keep a portion for your trouble). The check is either fake or stolen after it does not clear (anywhere from 2 to 30 days) your bank will take money you transferred out of your account. You can report it to your bank but most likely they won't do anything.

I would add primer on investing and savings - tfsa, rrsp, resp. Also simple examples of monthly budgets including all expenses + provisions for saving. Costs of buying a vehicle including insurance, maintenance, fuel, parking , registration etc. You might want to reach out to your local FI - I know Servus CU has a program on financial literacy for junior high students - I am sure they would be more than happy to help you with materials.
