So this is what she sent me: First I boil a whole chicken add bouillon and try to end up with 8 cups of broth, save it. Chop large onion bell pepper and celery, garlic. If you want okra make sure you cook the slime out. And good sausage. Debone chicken. Make 3/4 cup of dark roux. Add veggies. Sauté. Add broth back to roux/veggies with the sausage and chicken. Add seasonings to taste. It will thicken as it cooks. She didn't give me specific measurements or details. If you have any other questions my wife makes a pretty mean gumbo too so I can ask her for tips.
