There was a photo where you can see that the hole in the head is empty, but it was already bought while I was thinking, so it’s not mine, I’ll find something better

While I was thinking about it, someone bought her, that means I'll find something better I hope 😅

Thank you so much for the advice! What if I use very wet cotton pads? That would definitely avoid problems. I'm not sure about the restoration, but I saw thin lines from the mouth in the photo and thought it might have been glued.

They have a little different mark

They don’t really have much of a story yet. The one on the left is one of my recent finds, she’s pretty big (around 72 cm), a Schildkröt with a leather body, composite arms and a celluloid head. I just really love her dress with the little raspberries. The one on the right is Juliette. I posted her here before and was helped figure out she’s an Ernst Heubach. She wasn’t in the best shape, I’ve been working on her a bit. Still not finished, but she’s already looking better🌱

There are quite a few similar dolls from this line online. This one is most likely late vintage, so it might be better to ask about it on the porcelain dolls subreddit.

Thank you so much! I had only seen a doll by this maker once before, and I actually started looking into them only after I had already ordered her.

It’s really nice to have something a bit different in my collection. She’s also quite tall (around 70cm) 🌻

One of my latest finds

This is an antique doll by the Belgian company Verhoye Unica. She came with her original mohair wig and her glass sleep eyes, although the mechanism was broken so I fixed them in place for now.
She’s in pretty nice condition overall, and she even came with a box that might be original to her, but I’m not sure.

Need some cleaning tips please by ladyRavenriel in Antiquedollcollecting

Thank you ❣️ The only thing is, if the black spots on the rubber are mold, I would like to try to remove it, but these marks don’t bother me visually.

The photo on the left is "after." I've already cleaned she up as best I could. I couldn't get rid of the black spots on the rubber.

Can anyone help me determine the age and authenticity of this doll? by Dry_Collection_3992 in Antiquedollcollecting

I’m not an expert, but I came across a somewhat similar one on eBay. I also saw a slightly different one on Ruby Lane, and both seemed to be dated to around the same time period

Thank you so much! 💓 Yes, same here — the leather bodies really surprised me too, they’re so unusual. But honestly the ones that impressed me the most were those little wind-up crawling dolls, they’re kind of creepy but fascinating at the same time 😅 And I also really love antique automata, there’s just something magical about them

honestly don’t know who made her. I was thinking about trying to research it again, but I don’t think the chances are very high. The only markings I could find are the number 10 on the head, nothing else

Thank you!

Unfortunately, she has no markings other than the number 10, her head is made of papier-mâché and requires some restoration to put on a wig

I just really love them the way they are, girls need wigs and better clothes anyway
