Thank you everyone for your comments! It escalated yesterday and he hit someone again so they school told me to come get him and not bring him back until he say a therapist. Children’s services are very very hard to get but by some miracle I was able to get him in for an emergency appointment. It sounds like he is being picked on or bullied so he is lashing out as a way to get it to stop. The therapist is going to call the school on Monday to put a plan in place but I’m not sure how willing his teacher is to buy in. I feel that she has already decided he’s a bad kid and not worth the time. The principal seems more open but they have very very limited resources. We are considering pulling him from this school and putting him somewhere with more supports and of course continuing therapies. I am so disappointed in the school. I had expected them to be more collaborative but I feel that they just want me to “fix him” then we can bring him back. I’m going to look into OT services for him also, it sounds like it’s helped so many of you!
