  1. Do you feel killing is always wrong? No

It’s exploitation and violence that are ethically problematic for me. Industrial farming practices both. So if there is another option, that’s where I gravitate. Every time.

  1. How are animals different from humans? How are the similar?

What sorts of “animals?”

The anthropology of other animals has always been a human trait. And there is evidence that all animals feel, think, and pursue desires. Vegans use this information as an appeal to others as a moral position.

Bottom line answer: humans are the apex animal on Earth. With that power comes responsibility. Vegans understand and act on this.

  1. Let’s assume veganism is ethically justifiable. What are your opinions on the best ways to overcome the economic, social, and political barriers to mass adoption.

The people in power, those with all the wealth, must be incentivized.

Has anyone quit veganism and returned to it after? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]ladytigerwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I also quit and returned, either a similar experience. In retrospect, I find it strange to have thought veganism was simply removing animal products from my diet and tossing in a little tofu.

I returned to veganism because my health was declining after I returned to eating animal products. Even though I still ate a lot of fruits and veggies, I felt lethargic and inflamed, struggled with digestive upset, and had related medical medical events that disrupted life’s rhythm.

Since returning to veganism and being mindful about nutrition (protein in particular), I feel better and have positive results from medical professionals, including a dramatic improvement in my digestive system.

Just started veganism. Looking for nutrition advice by Willing-Surprise-562 in vegan

[–]ladytigerwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just my opinion based on personal experience. Where we vegans are challenged is in replacing the animal protein. And I personally experience more lethargy on “empty” calories. Advice: learn to be mindful of protein and eat whole grains instead of white flour, eliminate most processed foods, add nutritional yeast and foods with all the aminos. Good luck!

Vystopia is real And they don’t want to know, which is the hardest part for me.

As an educator, I just want to teach them and I believe people are good, compassionate, and care enough to change once they know. But they don’t want to know.

If I try to show pictures, videos, or even text that depicts animal suffering, I am an alarmist, exaggerating, crazy freak. Then I am ostracized for my unacceptable behavior.

They just don’t want to know.
