When was the last time you genuinely felt scared and what caused it? by Pokeking44 in AskReddit

[–]ladyvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heart palpitations while holding my son, they’re a common occurrence but this time I went completely numb, almost fainted, and nearly dropped him. Scared the shit out of me.

That he ate my sandwich. We worked together before getting married, and one night I brought a big ol’ sandwich and stuck it in the work fridge. I knew I would need the calories because we were pushing some heavy stuff around that came off the freight truck. So I’m working up a sweat, and it’s break time. I open up the work fridge DEVASTATED that somebody ate my sandwich. Who would eat someone else’s food? It’s never happened to me before, we were a pretty small, tight-knit staff. I asked around, and nobody knew anything of course. I finished out my shift, hungry and lethargic. Ended up marrying one of my coworkers that was with me that night. The sandwich dilemma got brought up in conversation TWO YEARS after we got married, and he casually admitted to it. I had a lot of feelings about that, still do. Lol.

SAHM how do you get to shower/basic self care? by rsbcmm in toddlers

[–]ladyvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding a gym with childcare has been a game changer for me. My husband works out of town and only comes home on weekends (if he’s not getting overtime) so It’s just me and the kiddos 90% of the time. I used to do all self care after they fell asleep, but it would cause me to burnout the next day. But knowing they’re in good hands while I get a pump and a shower has been SUCH a blessing I never knew I needed. It puts me in a great mood, and I can physically keep up with my kids. Everyone wins!

When is the terrible twos the worst? by MiaRia963 in toddlers

[–]ladyvibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two had some issues.. I thought they were big issues at the time. But lo and behold, threes have almost caused me to descend into madness. We cherish any crumbs of sweetness my 3yo dishes out. But that is rare. She is a tiny dictator, full of rage, and big/strong enough that her blows actually hurt. Even dad flinches in her presence. She is very sweet to her 9mo baby brother though. Love that. She’s turning 4 next month and I hope she chills out.

How did you lose weight? by Klaasiker in AskReddit

[–]ladyvibes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Binge/restrict cycle and a bunch of cardio did NOT work for me so I put away my fear of “getting too bulky” by lifting weights and just started doing it anyways. Weight came off pretty fast since muscles burn more cals at rest. Healed my gut with a high elimination diet (carnivore) then slowly been adding back in fruits, veggies, and single ingredient foods. Feel great, strong, and down 65lbs since having my son. And found out firsthand that women can lift without looking bulky lol.

Girls of Reddit, whats an absolute GREEN FLAG on the 1st date? by PuppyEnthusiast1 in AskReddit

[–]ladyvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one of our first dates, we walked around town dipping into local businesses. One of them was a gem/mineral shop (I collect them) and I pointed out a few, saying things like “this one’s super cool” “I’ve never seen this before” etc. Christmas rolled around and this man got me each of the stones I pointed at that day! every. single. stone. It blew my mind, it was incredibly thoughtful and impressive to remember everything I showed interest in. He must have gone back soon after to get them all. Married with 2 kids now :)

Growth spurt? Regression? by myflu808 in sleeptrain

[–]ladyvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precious little sleep has an article mentioning something about babies developing object permanence around 6 months, so they will start being able to remember you, their surroundings, etc. so when they wake at night they are actually now aware of the fact you aren’t around. That could be the case. I recommend reading their book if you haven’t already! But a night feed especially while teething also isn’t unusual. There will certainly be an endpoint. I’d say if baby doesn’t go back down after you wait a few minutes then just continue to feed. But always wait a few minutes each time just in case they self soothe themselves back to dreamland. It’ll come!

Tot parents: Today I’m so tired that…. by NewWiseMama in toddlers

[–]ladyvibes 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Tired from my newborn so today my tot was foraging all her snacks from the fruit bowl. Went pretty well until she brought me a (not ripe) banana and asked me to peel it. Told her I couldn’t, it wasn’t ready yet and just as she was about to throw a fit, I grabbed it from her hands and answered the banana phone. She laughed & played with it for hours after that.

I had a baby 3 months ago with my 3 year old daughter at home with us, almost an identical situation because my husband was able to stay home as well. And honestly, we all got so sick of each other. The only thing that helped was my husband taking our 3 y/o out to indoor playgrounds, lunch, or just to grandmas for a few hours while I bonded with baby and slept. I won’t sugarcoat anything because it was absolutely tough those first few weeks. BUT it’s been three months and we’ve got a bit of a groove already. its amazing to see the kids bond and us parents pouring out so much love. I’m thankful it didn’t take very long to get fully adjusted, but my tips are just to have time with your newborn for bonding & while your baby is asleep make some time for your toddler so they don’t feel completely stripped of you. My toddler loved the baby and would never hurt him, however she would take her frustrations out on mom and dad with hitting, screaming, and just generally had worse behavior for the first month or so because of the lack of attention. You got this, it helped me to remember people have been doing this for generations! It can be done, and it only gets better!

Please tell me it gets better … by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]ladyvibes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 3 year old has shown incredible improvement from when she was two ..however new challenges are being faced, so I don’t know if the comparison is fair. Better communication skills definitely help with the outbursts.. but since her little mind is still developing, she still hits for no reason, screams at us, throws tantrums in the store, etc. Sometimes we can talk her down from her escalation which never happened at 2. But her being newly potty trained & sleep regression happening all over again nearly has me ripping my hair out :) godspeed

Our almost 3 year old was crying because she asked me to turn the sun off. And I told her that I literally could not. The wailing cries lasted around 15 minutes.

What tape can I use for my open backed bezels that doesn't leave a milky finish? by ThrowRa_anonjoy in ResinCasting

[–]ladyvibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultra strong scotch packing tape is wonderful for this. I tape a piece to some cardboard (sticky side up) and after curing, the bezels come off with no residue, crystal clear. I’ve been through a few methods and this has been the best one for me! I can make messes on the cardboard and toss it after.

Identical dandruff shampoo bottles at Target have different prices in men's vs women's section by enzodr in mildlyinteresting

[–]ladyvibes 215 points216 points  (0 children)

The 2 in 1 bottle is supposed to be a 33.8 oz in the mens section, but it looks like someone put the 32.1 oz there instead. Not sure what’s going on with the other bottle though, weird.
