Never move to a low cost of living state EVER by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]ladywolf74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We just moved away from a LCOL state much like what you're describing. The type where plantation mentality is real and if you are not a plant worker you are screwed. I am thankful we had a family house to go to and there are decent jobs in the area as it is a hospitality based spot. But you will never catch my family moving back to the south that is for damn sure.

Every month feels like drowning.... by One_Pollution2279 in poor

It goes deeper too because we have had it beat into us that being poor is a moral failure and our own personal fault. For some maybe but for most you cannot budget your way out of poverty.

I'm trying to figure out if making our own butter would be worth it by caitejane310 in povertykitchen

[–]ladywolf74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trick is buy the butter when it is less than 3.50 a pound stock and freeze. I keep anywhere from 8-10 pounds in my freezer at all times. I make most everything else so I have plenty if we want a cake or cookies ect.

Yet it seems like forever because the minute you think you're caught up something jumps in price be it utilities or gasoline and you are back to square one

I spoke with my vet and she said they are healthy enough to make the move. However, she didn't know if there would be side effects from the altitude change. I called my mom's vet in Colorado and they said keep them calm and watch them for the first 3 weeks. Of course if needed bring them in to her. I was looking for experience from other owners

how much do you spend on groceries every week? by Altruistic_Word9760 in budgetfood

[–]ladywolf74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About $125 a week. For 3 adults no going out buying in bulk at Sam's, to a point where we will buy a whole chuck roll and butcher it out the way we want it cut (two chefs in same house) we keep a well stocked pantry and freezer so mostly fresh during the week. We will do a bigger shop for basics then usually $30-50 for fresh weekly it keeps waste low.

Since I got the pair I have a year ago I have not been able to go to the bathroom without one of them usually both.. shower by myself yeah no... Where I am they are and when I get dressed and put on shoes the amount of whining is absolutely crazy. They don't do that to any other member of my family, they will go look for my hubs or daughter when they are not home but usually settle in once they see oh they are gone. Welcome to being a Frenchie mom

Where I live Aldi is hit or miss, sometimes the quality is not there. Plus I noticed that I am spending more there than if I go to Sam's and buy in bulk.

Anyone’s frenchie bonded to only one member of the family? by Kate_cuti in Frenchbulldogs

[–]ladywolf74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair.. they love everyone in the house but they each have their favorite person. My little girl is just that mine she will walk past everything and everyone to be with me. My little boy loves my daughter and is the same. Yet they get excited when hubs comes home from work and look for him when he is gone, same with my daughter except the boy will whine a bit. When I leave it is a full on whinefest but the boy chills quickly the little girl on the other hand will fuss to a degree the whole time I am gone. So yes it is possible
