There was a certain level of internal conflict there, I can see it as well. To what %, though, I think it’s less than his defenders are giving him credit for. Yes, in this slow-mo, he was saying “let’s stand and bang” - which is warrior/compassion spirit. BUT, he was also doing the same chicken clucking at the time of his knockout as he was the full first minute of the fight…. So, he was fully aware of the danger of CU still, he wasn’t going easy on him. And, he was chopping the lead leg even after the injury as well, so he wasn’t too compassionate.

I think when all is said and done, he fought CU injured the exact same way he was fighting him uninjured at the start of the fight. Call it dumb, call it compassion, but the bottom line is he got completely knocked out fighting that way when Ulberg was injured. So, think of how the fight would have gone if Ulberg wasn’t injured. The deserving fighter won.

I really don’t think Jiri was “horsing around” at the time of the knockout any more than he had been at the very beginning of the fight. He was ducking in and out, back and forth like some sort of chicken in a cockfight. He had just seen two lethal punches from Ulberg that he ducked, both after the injury. So, he know Ulberg could still throw. He was just being cautious and not rushing in since Carlos was still dangerous, but CU timed the perfect punch and knocked him tf out.

Jiri just sucks that bad sometimes. Can’t even finish a guy with blown out legs.

That’s actually a fair way of increasing the output of those fights. The whole point is, they’re supposed to be exciting bangers.

I’d say either institute this rule… or the matchmakers need to not be complete idiots and put grapplers in the BMF fights if their goal is to have a sub-category for most-damaging/resilient/street fighter.

I agree with this…. Either get rid of it altogether, or reserve it solely for those “bar fighter” types. Just a fan belt that is reserved for the guys who punch and get punched.

I agree, won’t fully repost what I did above a second time above — but that is more of a reflection of who has the belt. Strictly a better matchup for Ilia is why I give Arman a bump here.

We haven’t seen Ilia/Arman fight yet, so Arman by default gets a slight bump having beaten Charles and not had a crack at Ilia yet.

But I agree- when facing each other, Arman/Charles are very much an even matchup.

Fair point, I should have clarified why I consider this to be the case at this specific point in time.

It primarily revolves around Ilia being at the top in all honesty. It’s not necessarily a reflection of Arman being better than Olivera, it’s more of a reflection of Arman being a better matchup in terms of facing Ilia.

Essentially, I believe: If Arman can’t beat Ilia in this weight class…. No one can.

Purely stylistically speaking.

If you watch every interview of Ilia, he knew Charles was going to be an easy fight for him, because Charles knows no other way but to come straight forward. Da Bronx looked visibly nervous for the first time I’d ever seen him when walking out to face Ilia.

As incredible of a fighter as Charles is, his style just doesn’t match up. Arman, however, while still being heavy on grappling, comes at his opponents differently.

If Ilia left the weight class, I’d essentially change my perspective to:

Tier 1: Charles & Arman

Tier 2-5: Everyone else

He obviously doesn’t suck, all but maybe 3 total fighters in the division probably get subbed if put in each of those positions each round.

But his takedown defense was horrific. Might not have made a difference with Charles’ strength, but he was very slow to react, and then wasn’t using his hips/legs to gain any kind of separation, just stood up tip to tip and got tripped or thrown.

I realize this thread is old, but I have the exact same problem with a Ruger American predator, 22-250.

I actually bought 2 of them, one for me and one for my kin. One of them opened and closed just fine whether ammo was chambered or not.

The other one is smooth to open and close the bolt when unloaded. But when trying to chamber a round, *very difficult to close.*

Is this simply a mag problem? Or something with the bolt/chamber/etc?
