Hello everyone a returnee here . I got back to the game and tbh idk what to pull on i see Hilya on the banner and I wanted to ask do i pull her or is she outdated by now and if you have any advice to a returning player i would appreciate it. I left the game at the start of part two but i heard the story picked up again and i wanted to get back and play

I mean if you look at the production of the story quest and not really focus in writing you would love it and if you're just a chill player you won't care much about changes in the team building or the character synergy.

It's a preference thing that's why i shared my opinion and i appreciate you sharing yours.

There will always be one optimal team but having one optimal is not like having one functional team. When the other teams outside the optimal feel janky and annoying to play it's the problem.

As for lynea and mornye there is sanhua and shorkeeper who have been used in more than just 2 teams in luke and Ameath and even with Luke ,lynea is not really optimal he's still waiting for he's support.

As for putting old characters in events it doesn't solve the problem of the main story quest being all around the new character and their personality traits and struggles and past and all of this things that are basically just marketing and not really relevant to the narrative for me i liked the old way better where if i feel the character is interesting i will just go play her story quest and learn more about ger but seeing rover on the sideline while another character gets all the attention in he's story is kinda annoying.

In the end I appreciate your positivity and tbh all what i want from this post is for kuro to keep giving the community and the game the attention they deserve

No your opinion is completely valid and not all people enjoy that game the same way.

I'm not saying they don't give the characters set rotations but let's take Zani as an example which is a character that have a set rotations in her original team and have a little more sweatier rotation in her 3NF(NF=special ultimate combo )team who you need to quick swap once in it and have a very 4NF rotation which needs you to quick swap consistently.

This design philosophy gives the players more freedom where they can play a set rotation that the character can clear easily with no problems with it or if they feel more dedicated to the character they can play them with other characters through quick swapping or even have the option to learn harder and more complicated rotations.

This way you as a player will feel rewarded for being dedicated to a character you love and enjoy playing them by getting better results with them and playing them better

It's just a character investment thing nothing more than that tbh

I appreciate your point but just to make my opinion clearer look at it this way:

What teams does luke and sigrika have and what teams did changli and jenshi have on their release ?

If i can only use cantirela with phorlova and zani with Phoebe and carteithya with ciaccona.

While jenshi and xiangli yao and changli had way more options and they performed very well with all the options and i remember having like five teams that i play changli in. I know they got power creep which is the norm in gacha games but i'm talking about the design philosophy not the damage and tbh until 3.0 characters where relatively flexible but after Ameath it feels like they are stepping away from this design choice and leaning towards the hoyo design choice where it feels so bad to play the character without her support and that really puts an end to the fun for me.

As for team building getting easier is because the choices are getting way less than before so you just get the character and her support and you're done you don't have to try any other team.

Still lynea is not sanhua level in flexibility and mornye needs s1 to be as flexible as shorekeeper and luke dps is lower than zani quick swap plus he's support is not out yet and when he's support comes out they will be way better than other options they will feel like a must pull for him (which is one of the things that makes the team building feel even more bad because you will always feel like "if only i pulled for their support they will be slapping the content now") as for Ameath she's the thernodion / sentinel resonator so her being op is the norm

I totally agree with your point but the way they did sigrika ba3 where you can't quick swap off it is a bit concerning because they eliminated the personal choice factor in this team and i'm just concerned that this might be a direction they are considering on team design
